This choice: Sophie, the elementary schooler • Go Back...Chapter #4Elementary, my dear Nick by: Bird You park your bike outside Helios Elementary, lunch sack in hand, not bothering to lock it since this should be quick and easy. Heading in, you stop in the office. A middle aged woman with long black hair and a thick grey sweater greets you.
"Hi, I'm dropping off this lunch for Sophie Lewis," you say, placing the sack on the desk.
She takes it with a smile. "Well aren't you a sweet brother. Doesn't Sophie usually get a ride with Mrs. Lewis? Why didn't she bring it."
You shrug. Wish I knew, lady. "She's running late today. Had to drop off my younger brother at daycare."
The secretary smiles. "You're a sweetheart. Not every brother would do that, ya know?"
"Yeah..." you say. Usually you eat that kinda praise up, but all of a sudden you're feeling woozy. "I'm sorry, but where's the closest toilet."
"Just out and down the hall, hard to miss." She frowns, noticing your eyes sink and your face flush. "You feeling all right there?"
"Just-just fine." You grit your teeth into a smile, the feeling of vertigo suddenly extremely intense. "Have a-a grea-ay."
You stumble into the Hall, clutching your gut. What's happening?! The hallway stretches out before you into infinity, the harsh ceiling lights mini suns miles above. Everything is blurry, spinning, twisting, then the floor rushes up and meets you.
"I'm fucking tiny!" you scream, shocked by the sudden expanse of floors and walls. "What the hell, what the hell, is this 'cause of Sean's wonder serum?" You shudder, staring out at the single floor tile that could easy hold a football stadium, and the gargantuan walls, plastered in billboard sized works of elementary art. "Oh God, what am I going to do? What am I supposed to-"
Boom.
Boom.
Boom.
Boom!
You're thrown to the floor by the rapid approach of footsteps. You wimper, and look up to see that, heading your way, was the gargantuan figure of... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
