It was a quiet and cloudless night, the stars twinkling in the dark sky and most of the residence of Character Heaven fast asleep. Though the time was approaching midnight, the security station at the chemical facility was still manned.
The office was as quiet as the night, the only noise being the whir of the fan, and sitting behind his desk, playing games on his phone, was a buffalo.
He looked unmistakably like Chief Bogo from Zootopia, and you would be half-right to think so; he did play the character in the film, but he was actually a completely different person offscreen.
Unlike Chief Bogo, this buffalo was lazy, nervous, slow to react, and went by the simple name of Bob. He wasn't as fit as his counterpart in the film either, and, as he leaned back in his chair to stretch, his bulging beer gut strained the button's on his uniform.
But as Bob went back to playing his video games, he was blissfully unaware that an event was about to happen that would change his, and perhaps Character Heaven as a whole, life.
There was a loud crash from somewhere in the building, and Bob was alerted by the noise. He stood up, hitching up his too small jeans, grabbed a flashlight, and went to investigate the disturbance.
After a while, he made it to the area were he thought the noise originated from. He was standing at the end of a hallway, two doors on his side. The one on his left led to a massive room fill of dams filled with unknown chemicals, and the door on his right to a small laboratory.
