"I shouldn't rush things just yet... don't want to do anything dumb," Akira decided, putting his phone away for the night and leavinghis glasses on his work desk as he got ready for bed.
"Morgana, scoot over," he said as he casually pushed the cat aside, making some room on his mattress. He flopped down on his back, putting thoughts of the crazy thing that just happened out of his mind as he drifted to sleep.
--
That night, Akira had a pleasant dream. He walked through the halls of Shujin Academy, with no one glaring at him or whispering about him as he passed by. He could go where he wanted and do whatever he wanted; he was even in a club. It was as though his record didn't exist.
--
Sunlight streamed in through the windows as Akira pulled himself out of bed, stretching his limbs. It was still summer break, and with Futaba's palace handled, he had some time to relax and unwind, like a real student on vacation.
"Took you long enough," a voice chimed in. Akira turned his head to see Morgana on the other side of the room, on top of his table by the steps. "Don't go getting lazy on me, Joker. Remember your promise?"
Joker swung his feet out of bed and stood up, "I haven't forgotten. Just enjoying the R&R while I can."
"Well, I think I'll do the same in that case," Morgana replied. "it's a nice day out, so I'm going to take a walk. I won't be far in case anything comes up though." Akira gave him a nod and waited patiently as Morgana left the restaurant.
The second that the cat was gone, Akira hurriedly ran to his desk and opened up his cell phone. With it, he confirmed what he wanted to know - that what happened the night prior wasn't a dream. "Now, I have to figure out how to use it while I have a moment alone..."
