"That has got to be the stupidest plan I've ever heard," Lee informed as the spies stood in front of a man in a costume resembling a groundhog.
"Yeah dude, I'm eleven and even I know that won't work," Tony added.
"My plan is perfect, this year on Groundhog day I will cause my army of groundhogs to rise and help me conquer not only America but the entire world!" he rambled. The four tweens looked on with blank expressions, why did they have to be sent on a mission with such a stupid criminal, his plan wouldn't work even if they didn't stop him, all he would do is humiliate himself.
"Well actually," Marc replied, slipping into his smarty-pants mode, "groundhogs are native only to the United States and Canada, therefore you physically couldn't overtake the world because there are no groundhogs anywhere else to conquer with."
"My plan will work!" the man yelled.
"You really didn't need to reason with the madman," Lee whispered over to his brother.
"Yeah, I think you just made him angry," Tony reasoned, the man leapt at Marc, who swiftly jumped out of the way, the spies separated and prepared for battle.
"If you aren't going to let me continue with my plans I'm just going to have to eliminate you!" the man yelled as he pulled out a small circular saw.
"This guy's crazy!" Lee yelled. The man ran towards Lee, laughing maniacally as he swiped the saw at Lee. The boy jumped back next to Marc.
"He means business, that's for sure," Marc added. The man pulled out a gun and started shooting at them, Megan shrieked as she ducked behind a pole just as a bullet ricocheted off it.
"I think this laughing stock just bumped up to an A-Level threat," Megan shouted to the others, the man continued shooting at the boys, Marc jumped out of the way and behind two empty oil drums, a bullet grazing his left arm.
"Marc, are you alright?" Tony asked, crouching next to him.
"Tony, get out of here," Marc ordered, "this guy's too dangerous and I can't let you get hurt, I would never forgive myself."
"No way, I'm not leaving you three!" Tony protested, "We're a team, the four of us need to stick together!"
"This isn't up for debate!" Marc shouted back, startling Tony, it wasn't like Marc to snap like he did, especially to Tony. "You're only eleven, and a Gamma level spy, the rest of us are Beta, we'll handle this."
"But..." before Tony could argue Marc shoved him through the door and jammed it with a plank, he turned back to the fight and tried to attack the man with the 'Super Coolio Freeze Gun' the man jumped out of the way and shot a few more bullets at the blue-clad spy, one bullet grazing his right leg.
"That's my brother you're shooting!" Megan yelled, she threw the 'Zygomorphic Zap Ball', the ball split in half, creating a string of electricity, the man jumped just in time to miss the electric rope as it wrapped around Lee. Megan jumped behind several boxes as bullets zoomed towards her.
"This is bad, we can't get close to him," Marc complained.
"Hey Squirrel man!" Everyone looked up at a small yellow-clad spy standing on a large stack of boxes.
"Tony! Get away!" Megan yelled.
"Don't be stupid!" Lee added.
"I'm not a squirrel I'm a groundhog!" the man shouted as he started shooting at Tony, Tony jumped into the air and dropped down, he grabbed several freeze disks and threw them at the man, the criminal dodged them but almost slipped on the now icy floor. He jumped to the exit and held a remote in his hands. "I've had enough of this, goodbye spies." He pressed the button and suddenly a mini explosion happened above Tony, the boy looked up as parts of the roof fell towards him. Everything changed to slow motion, he was too petrified to move and could see the debris slowly hurdling toward him, enough to crush his skull and/or burry him alive, either way this was the end. Suddenly he felt something, he was being pushed out of the way, he looked behind himself to see Marc taking his place under the falling roof.
"NO!" Tony yelled as he fell to the ground. Marc let out a blood-curdling scream of pain as the concrete buried him. Tears streamed down Tony's face as he scampered to his feet and started frantically scraping away the concrete, Lee joined him and they moved a large concrete slab off of Marc's body. Tony hugged Marc's body tightly as he wailed loudly. "Marc, please come back, don't leave me!" Megan covered her mouth in shock as she looked at her brother's body.
"He's not dead," Lee informed, scanning the boy with his eyepiece, "he's alive, only barely though, Jerry might be able to save him." The several hours that followed were the worst hours any of the spies had ever sat through, despite Jerry's attempts he couldn't send the other three home they refused to leave their brother if he wasn't sure to survive, instead, Jerry hypnotised their parents so they wouldn't notice their absence. Tony still hadn't stopped crying, it was his fault Marc was about to die, if he had just listened and gone back to the jet like Marc told him to they would probably have captured the villain and be happily eating dinner together. The others wanted to comfort their youngest brother but both were far too distressed to be able to comfort anyone. Eventually, Jerry walked into the waiting room along with a doctor, the three spies jumped to their feet.
"How is he?" Lee asked.
"Will he survive?" Megan asked, dreading the answer. Jerry took a deep breath and sighed in relief.
"He is stable," Jerry informed, the three siblings hugged each other in relief. "Though I advised against it Marc is as stubborn as the rest of you, he wants to see..."
