“I was just thinking that, maybe… you wanna stay small for a bit?” Starlight laughed nervously. “Seems like a waste to just grow back right away. Right?”
“Why on earth would I not want to grow back as soon as possible?”
“Because you’re on Equestria and not Earth?” She tried to make a joke but awkwardly cleared her throat when she got no response. “Nevermind. I just… isn’t it kind of cool being so small? You were probably three times my size before, and now you’re so small! I mean, what a change, right?”
“I think you’re just really proud that you shrunk me to this size.” You said sourly. “It’s kind of cool you can do magic, but-”
“I know, right?” Starlight interrupted, getting a little cocky, “It’s probably pretty cool for you to learn that magic is real. I mean, a portal to another world is crazy enough, but then to get shrunk on top of that? Wow, mind blowing!”
“I-I guess.” You sighed. “Being grown back to my normal size would be pretty cool too though.”
“And I’ll get you back to your normal size later.” Starlight said sincerely, “But, for now, you can enjoy Equestria while you're fun sized! It’s great here, and you’ll be able to enjoy it a lot more when you’re like that. And out of the terrarium, of course. I’ll get you a proper place later. “ She chuckled nervously.
You wanted to protest more, to question why you had to be at this size to enjoy your time here, but you just… couldn’t. Somehow she had worn you down and made you accept this whole crazy situation. Maybe this crazy situation was just making you go crazy. Or maybe Starlight’s cuteness and enthusiasm was just so infectious that you couldn’t say no. Or maybe…
You sighed deeply, “You’re not using magic to make me think this is a good idea are you? Because you’re kind of convincing me.”
Starlight scoffed and laughed, waving a hoof dismissively. “Ha! No, I haven’t used magic to control people or just plain manipulate anypony in ages.” The unicorn gasped and sucked in a quiet breath. “That sounds really bad, doesn’t it?”
You smacked your head against the glass of the terrarium. “Of course I’d get kidnapped by a villain.”
“H-hey, I’m not a villain anymore!” Starlight awkwardly rubbed a foreleg with her hoof, “I definitely was before, I really messed up, but I’ve changed. I struggled, but I’m better now! Still make some pretty big mistakes though. …Or, small mistake in your case?” She forced a laugh, but stopped and apologized when you looked up at her with a glare. “Sorry, bad joke.”
“Really bad.” You sighed. “But I guess… I’ll trust you. I really shouldn’t after you admitted to being a former villain, but I guess I’m just a sucker.” A small laugh slipped from your mouth.
“Great!” Starlight sounded relieved. “I seem to have the worst luck with first impressions; glad I didn’t completely mess this one up.”
“You’re still on thin ice,” You say, somewhat teasing, “shrinking someone definitely isn’t a strong first impression. Neither is trapping them in a terrarium after.”
“Ahaha, right. But, like we discussed, being small will make your visit here more fun. And, like I said, I’ll get you a better place than that terrarium later.”
“Oh? We discussed that? I’m pretty sure you just said things to convince me to stay like this. This is mostly a you thing.”
“But you already said you’d go along with it, so no take backs!”
“Yeah, sure, no take backs. This better actually be a good time like you say it will.”
“Trust me, you’ll have a great time! I might even take you back to your world like this later.”
That surprised you. “Wait, you can go to my world?” The giant unicorn nodded. “ I mean, I guess you made a portal there, but I guess I didn’t think you could go there yourself. Have you like… been there? I never heard anything about a talking pony suddenly appearing.” You laughed.
“Oh, I didn’t go as my pony self. The portal I used turns me into a human like you. I went with another pony who… well, it’s a long story. Maybe I’ll tell you later.”
“Yeah, let’s save that for later.” You agreed, already slightly confused. “But why do you want to take me there like this?”
“Well, I told you that you’d have a good time at that size, and while I was over at your world I made a couple of friends. And human girls seem to love small and cute things, which fits your current predicament pretty well… see what I’m saying?”
“…Shrunk around some pretty and cute girls who can’t resist my new size? I guess it doesn’t sound too bad.” You tried to play it cool.
Starlight rolled her eyes and chuckled. “Alright casanova, sure. But you gotta follow along and let me show you around here first.”
“That’s fair. So, what’s the plan for now?”
