Chapter #6

Tinies at Twilight's Doorstep.

    by: G-Breaker Author IconMail Icon
Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo stood at Twilight's doorstep, waiting patiently for their highly intelligent friend to open for them. At that time, Twilight was just reading a book in her room when she heard them knocking on her door and turned her attention away from her book.

"Hmm, who could that be?" Twilight wondered as she went to go and answer the door. "I don't think I was expecting anyone today. Maybe it's my friends coming to visit? That would be nice right now."

As Twilight made her way down the stairs, the girls waited for about a minute or so before one of them began to lose patience. Scootaloo quickly grew tired of waiting and was about to knock on the door again before Applebloom grabbed her wrist and stopped her.

"Just wait, Scootaloo. I'm sure Twilight's taking her time." Applebloom said.

"Hey, Rainbow Dash likes to go fast, and I plan to follow her lead." Scootaloo replied, much to her friends' shared unamusement. "Come on. It's rude to make someone wait at the door, you know."

"So is rushing them by knocking again." Sweetie Belle added.

"Just wait, alright. It's not like we've got somewhere else to be right now." Applebloom said, prompting Scootaloo to sigh in defeat and comply with their wishes.

Twilight had just made it down the stairs and was now making her way to her front door. However, as Applebloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle waited for her, the three of them were too focused on the door to notice a strand of stray Equestrian magic floating right behind them. The wandering wisp of magic sensed the girls and became drawn to them as it snuck up behind them.

"What's taking Twilight so long?" Scootaloo fumed, annoying Applebloom again.

"What did we just say about-" Just as Applebloom was about to scold the violet-haired scooter rider for her impatience, all three members of the young trio were instantaneously struck by a strange, tingly sensation.

Before they knew what happened next, Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo were engulfed from head to toe in blue energy auras, shaking erratically as they watched everything around them go through a sudden change. The girls could see their entire world growing bigger and bigger until the auras began to dissipate, leaving them dizzy until their eyes readjusted to their surroundings.

"Whoa. That was weird." Sweetie Belle said as she felt her head recovering from the sudden shock.

"What just happened here? All I saw was a big flash of light, and then nothing." Scootaloo said in confusion. "What the heck is..."

"Scootaloo? What's wrong?" Sweetie Belle asked once she noticed her scooter-riding friend tensing up.

"That's what's wrong!" Scootaloo exclaimed as she grabbed Sweetie Belle's shoulders and turned her around, pointing to the thing that caught her attention behind her.

To their shared surprise, they were staring at Scootaloo's beloved scooter, but there was something off about it. They stared in shock to see that Scootaloo's ride had instantly grown to ten times the size it was a few seconds ago. Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle couldn't tell what happened, but one thing was for sure, they were now in quite a pickle.

"M-my scooter! It's-it's huge!" Scootaloo shrieked. "How did it get so big?!"

"Um, Scootaloo? Something tells me it's not your scooter that got bigger." Sweetie Belle retorted before turning to Applebloom. "Applebloom, I think we might have a problem here."

Unfortunately, Applebloom was far from okay once her friends noticed her sudden silence. They grew worried when she didn't answer right away and walked beside her, surprised to see their red-headed friend standing there stunned and motionless with her mouth agape as she stared up at something in front of her.

"Applebloom?" Scootaloo waited for a reaction, only to grow more concerned as she continued to stand idly like that, with that shocked look on her face. "Hey, Applebloom! Snap out of it!"

Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle tried to shake her awake until the red-haired farm girl snapped out of her trance. However, that didn't mean she was okay since she still looked pretty anxious.

"Um, guys. I think this might be a good time to panic." Applebloom said nervously.

"What makes you say that?" Sweetie asked.

"Look." Applebloom pointed up with her finger, directing her friends to what she was staring at, which apparently, was a much more frightening sight than Scootaloo's scooter looking gigantic.

The girls gasped in shock to see that the door they were standing in front of had grown exponentially as well. The door to Twilight's house now towered over them, prompting them to look around and notice that everything else in Twilight's front yard suddenly increased in size as well.

"Is-is that Twilight's door?" Sweetie Belle wondered anxiously.

"I'm afraid so." Applebloom confirmed.

"But if that's the door, and that huge thing over there is my scooter, then that means..." Once Scootaloo put two and two together, it soon became clear what happened to them.

Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo exchanged distressed looks as they realized what that blue aura did to them. They didn't want to believe it, but from what they were looking at, there was no denying it.

"WE SHRUNK!" They all shouted in unison.

The reality of their situation hit them like a ton of bricks as Scootaloo ran around in a tizzy while Sweetie Belle jumped and jerked with panicked whimpering. Out of nowhere, the three of them had suddenly shrunken to what they could only assume was no more than an inch in height. It was so intimidating seeing everything around them looking so huge that they nearly lost their minds.

"I don't believe it! We're tiny!" Applebloom exclaimed. "It must've been some of that stray magic."

"This is bad! Very bad!" Sweetie Belle panicked. "What do we do?! What do we do?!"

"Calm down, you guys!" Applebloom yelled, hoping to get her friends to stop panicking.

"Calm down?! How can we calm down?!" Scootaloo replied. "Look at us! We're tiny! We're the size of bugs! You're the one who said it's a good time to panic!"

"Yeah, but that won't help us right now. So, CALM DOWN!" Applebloom yelled again, getting Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle to stop screaming. "That's better."

"Okay, we're calm. Now what?" Scootaloo wondered.

"We just need to find a way to get big again. And the first thing we should do is-" At that moment, Applebloom cut herself off once the tiny trio felt the ground shaking out of nowhere.

"Whoa! What's that?!" yelled Sweetie Belle.

"Earthquake!" Scootaloo shouted as they felt the shaking coming closer to them.

"Actually girls, I think it's much worse than that!" Applebloom said.

At that moment, the shrunken girls felt their fear skyrocketing as the giant door above them began to open. They all huddled together, watching in terror as it opened to reveal the person they were waiting for.

"Oh, boy!" Applebloom gulped.

To their horror, the girls were met with the sight of the gigantic form of their good friend, Twilight Sparkle, who was now towering miles above them. Twilight opened the door, only to be surprised to see nobody on the other side.

"Hello? Anyone there?" Twilight said, her voice like thunder to the shrunken girls on her doorstep. "That's strange. I could've sworn I heard someone knocking."

Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo gazed up in terror as Twilight stood over them like a skyscraper. She was so big and tall that they could barely see her face past her skirt.

"It's Twilight! And she's a total giant!" Sweetie shrieked.

"We must look like bugs to her from down here." Scootaloo assumed. "*GASP* That means, she could squish us like bugs! What are we gonna-"

"LOOK OUT!" Applebloom yelled, pointing up as a large shadow fell over them.

Twilight began to step out through the door, blissfully unaware of the girls she was about to step on. The girls screamed as they looked up and saw Twilight's right foot hovering over them. They immediately dispersed and ran out of the way just before the towering genius could step on them with her massive, purple Maryjane shoe.

*STOMP!*

They might've avoided getting squashed like bugs, but they were still in danger with the giant, violet-haired girl standing right in front of them. The girls laid in front of Twilight's huge feet, marveling at her titanic form as she looked left and right for whoever knocked on her door.

"That was close! We almost got squished!" Scootaloo yelled.

"Then our only chance is to get Twilight to see us before that happens!" Applebloom said.

With that, the tiny girls decided to try to get Twilight's attention any way they could. It wasn't going to be easy with their major size difference, but that wasn't going to stop them.
