“Why hello Blaze.” Vanilla greeted. “Come, come inside. I’ll get us some tea.”
Blaze entered Vanilla’s home and made her way to Vanilla’s kitchen. She removed her bag and sat at the table nearby. Vanilla turned on her stovetop and placed a filled kettle on the burner. As the kettle heated, Vanilla joined Blaze at the table.
“So, what brings you by Blaze.” Vanilla asked.
“I came to see Cream.” Blaze said. “I thought we could have another little playdate.”
“Oh.” Vanilla said. Vanilla was aware of Cream and Blaze’s pretend playing. She even was involved in their play-dates once in a while; filling the role as caretaker, tending to the "babies" basic needs. “I’m sorry to tell you this, but Cream isn’t home. She’s out with Amy.”
Then the kettle whistles. Vanilla stepped away to prepare the Tea. Blaze sat silently with a down face. She used to pal around with Cream and forget her troubles, but her timing was off. Vanilla brought over a tray with teacups, cream, and sugar. She served Blaze her glass and took her own. Blaze sadly sipped her tea.
“What’s wrong Blaze?” Vanilla asked.
“I was hoping to see Cream and play.” Blaze explained. “It’s been a bit stressful recently and I needed to help take off some of the stress.”
Vanilla pitied Blaze a moment, then had an idea.
“You know, I could take care of you.” Vanilla suggested. Blaze perked up. “If you need to relax, I can help you. I don’t mind watching over babies, even if they’re big and cute.” Blaze blushed lightly at Vanilla’s compliment, too embarrassed to look at Vanilla.
“I’d appreciate it.” Blaze said. “But I was hoping more for a playmate than a mommy.” Then, an idea struck her. “Maybe you can be my playmate. You could dress up and we could play together.”
“Umm….” Vanilla said, stunned while her face burned red. She wasn’t completely comfortable with the idea of being made up into a big baby, but she was curious to try it and see why it appealed to her daughter.
Blaze took notice of her uneasy look. “I’m sorry. I was just suggesting. I didn’t mean to put you on the spot like that.”
“It’s ok dear.” Vanilla replied. “I was just a bit surprised by your suggestion. I’m not so much against it, but I don’t know if I want to try it.”
“Well, if you want, I can show you.” Blaze said. “If not, I wouldn’t mind having a mommy, epically one as sweet as you.
Vanilla smiled lightly over Blaze’s honeyed words. Vanilla choose to be the role of….
