"Woohoo!' Came the voice, ringing out throughout the woods as a young shinobi, clad in a somewhat hideous orange and blue jumpsuit rushed through the canopy of the forest, carrying a scroll that was nearly as big as him.
"Hehe, awesome! Now I'll be a shinobi for sure!" Naruto grinned, as he bounded along, heading for the meeting spot with his sensei. Although he hadn't passed the graduation exam, Mizuki-sensei had given him another opportunity to graduate to a genin, which was the bring him this Scroll of Forbidden, er, Forbiddenness, yeah, that sounded right! Sure, he left Jiji in a pile of his own blood. Okay, yeah, that sounded worse than it really was. It wasn't his fault that Jiji was a giant pervert and was weak to his sexy jutsu!!
Either way, he had the scroll, and with a final heave, he finally arrived at the location, but Mizuki-sensei wasn't there yet! "Aw, he's not here yet!" Naruto shrugged, but the edge of the scroll caught his eye, the foxy grin returning to his face. "But if I can learn one of the jutsu from here, he'll have to let me graduate!!!" And with a heave, he opened the scroll.
"Let's see... first one up... Shadow Clone Jutsu... Oh crap..."
====Some time later====
Sweating heavily, Naruto gasped, somewhat exhausted, but he'd done it! He finally got a clone jutsu down! Yeah, they were solid, and he got a headache when one dispersed, but he'd done it. Looking around, he saw Mizuki still wasn't here... but, "Hehe, might as well learn another one-dattebayo~"
====Even more time later====
Naruto just finished trying to figure out the complicated jutsu, seemingly covered with warnings not to use, but hey, obviously it meant it was a powerful jutsu, right? Right as he was just about to perform it, he was finally interrupted by a "NARUTO!!!"
"Yipe!" He shouted, jumping a little bit, but wait, that wasn't Mizuki-sensei? "Hey Iruka-sensei!!" Naruto waved, somewhat eagerly.
"What are you doing with the forbidden scroll!"
"I didn't know you were judging too! Mizuki-sensei said I could graduate if i could get the scroll!
Iruka's eyes narrowed. That wasn't a test for the Academy... that meant only one thing...
"I wasn't expecting you Iruka... no matter, I suppose the fox brat should at least die knowing one thing..."
Iruka turned to see Mizuki standing on a tree branch above, a sinister grin on his face, shadows covering the upper half. His eyes widened as he realized what Mizuki was up to. "Mizuki no!!"
====Some canon events later~====
Naruto walked into his house, somewhat exhausted from the past couple events... learning why everyone disliked him... he never would have guessed that... the Kyuubi... he gently put his hand on his stomach. But there were some positives as well. He adjusted his headband, Iruka's headband, which his now somewhat surrogate father had given him. The image of him crying out of worry for him above him etched forever into his mind.
He had a team, and a somewhat vexing sensei. But hey, it was Sakura on it, right? Although he could do without Sasuke. Oh, and that genin exam tomorrow...And oh yeah, he had two new jutsu! Wait, oh yeah! TWO!
He slammed his hands together in a "oh yeah" motion. "I never got to try out the other jutsu! Running his hands together in the sequence he fortunately remembered, he could finally see what it does! Of course, he had no idea the fox had it's own plans for the jutsu too...
