Rip Hunter, a Time Master from the year 2166 has traveled back 150 years to 2016 in order to assemble a team of individuals whose absence would have minimal effect on the timeline to stop an immortal madman by the name of Vandal Savage before he could kill Rip's family.

He team included himself, Ray Palmer AKA The A.T.O.M who wears a super-suit that allows him to shrink in size, Sara Lance a former member of the League of Assassins who was also formally dead, Jefferson Jackson and Professor Martin Stein who when merged together created the Metahuman F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M. The Team also included two criminals from Central City Leonard Snart, known by the alias Captain Cold after being named so by Cisco Ramon, and his partner Mick Rory otherwise known as Heatwave, a violent man who has a love of fire and fighting. Finally he recruited the latest reincarnations of the ancient Egyptian Prince Khufu and his love Chay-Ara, now known as Carter Hall and Kendra Saunders.

Together this band of misfits travels the timeline so don't call them heroes, they're Legends.
