Not sure what else to do with himself, Jake turns toward Beth's head. Scaling her chin would probably be too steep, but climbing up around her jaw would be much easier if he wanted to reach her face. Just as Jake begins to reach for Beth's jaw, however, the giant girl's body shifts, causing Jake to freeze in terror. Beth reaches her hands up to her face and removes her glasses, setting them down on her bedside table. Afterward, she lets out a sleepy moan and brings one hand back to her face to rub her fingers back and forth under her nose. After rubbing for a second, Beth lets her hand fall back to her side and she sniffs, nearly knocking Jake off balance.
Jake waits for a few more seconds to see if Beth will move again. She keeps still, and then Jake resumes his climb. He starts getting worn out once he's halfway up Beth's cheek, so he decides to stop and rest for a moment. To the side her can see Beth's ear, partly covered by her brown hair but still accessible. Ahead, he can see Beth's nose peeking above her cheek, air flowing in and out as she breathes.
