Maximalist Modeling Mania
Fads come and go on the Internet in the blink of an eye, so eyebrows are raised when one of those trends displays more staying power than a three-month craze. When that which is dernier cri begins to take on more polite terms such as à la mode, what people expect to go out of fashion stays in fashion. Right now, the online world is abuzz with 'Maximalism,' the opposite of minimalism, where more is more, and people say yes to excess. A rejection of the asceticism and budget cuts that minimalism preaches, maximalism demands an aesthetic of showiness, grandeur, and not one bit of empty space. It's caught on everywhere, surprising many, hopping from field to field like a crown fire over fire breakers.
Maximalist literature, maximalist architecture, maximalist fashion, and now maximalist modeling. WaterLiLi finds himself no longer in vogue as his popularity…well, it's not sinking, not even dipping a little bit, but his popularity has been stagnant for some time, and that won't do! Models are expected to have 'more to love' these days, and while Lee has never thought he needed extra cushioning before, he had to admit some of the rival models he's seen on his social media feeds are pulling off the look rather well. And if they can do it, surely he can make it work, too!
A Stomach Stuffed With Sushi
A new restaurant opened up in Ecruteak City - a sushi train that the locals can't seem to get enough of! The place has only been in business for about a month, but it's quickly become the town's number-one venue for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Not only is the food good, but it's cheap to boot, maintained by the friendliest staff, and open at night, too, for the customers who wake up in the middle of the night craving sushi. Those midnight sushi cravings have been happening more and more frequently as of late. And, hold on, doesn't everyone look a little more…plump?
Not fat, per se; it just seems that everyone could stand to do some light exercise. Is there such a thing as too much sushi? Meh, if there is, it's probably not that big of a deal - no one else seems to be complaining yet, especially not Lee. Ever since the place opened, he's been spending more of his day job lunch breaks there, and it's a great place to decompress with your colleagues after a long day of work…
Lee's Generous Fans
As of late, Lee's fans have been acting odd. The nature of a good portion of his tips has changed from money to food. He keeps getting restaurant take-out orders, bags of groceries, and sometimes even homemade sweets delivered to his doorstep. The Milotic would prefer cash, but he won't complain about not having to spend so much on filling up his fridge and pantry every month. Plus, some of those baked goods were ridiculously good - too good to let them go to waste.
Lee doesn't understand why he's suddenly shown appreciation in the form of foodstuffs rather than cash, but the more he eats, the less incentive he has to ask questions. It's rather funny - he never had a hunger problem before, but the more food he consumes from his fans, the higher his appetite becomes. He should be more curious, more determined to understand where this newfound gluttony is coming from. But with each bite, Lee slips deeper into a haze of contentment, oblivious to his new diet's effects on his waistline...
The Big Move-In
The cost of living in Ecruteak City has gone up lately, and despite Lee juggling both his day job and online modeling as WaterLiLi, money is still too tight for his liking. After giving it much thought, the Milotic has decided to advertise in the newspaper for potential roommates. Sharing his pad with a stranger isn't an idea that makes Lee very comfortable, but in the current economic climate, having someone to split the bills with will be a lifesaver for his wallet. Besides, Lee's sure that he and whoever will answer the advert will become fast friends! After all, with his good looks and composure, all the relationship will need is a little bit of kindness and active listening skills, and then it won't feel so weird to have someone living with him.
However, one thing that Lee should have accounted for was how... significant in body size his new roommate might be. Over the phone, the interested caller responding to the advert had chatted up a storm with Lee, which was a good sign, but naturally, the topic of 'how much do you weigh?' didin't come up in the conversation. So when the appointed day arrives, and Lee opens his door to find his new roommate to be a hulking obese stranger, he is more than a bit shocked. Of course, despite the initial surprise, the two of them still get along like cheese and wine, and before he knows it, Lee finds himself becoming friends with the great Goliath. Of course, the longer this new roommate stays around, the more their eating habits rub off on the Milotic...
