Specialists truly committed to their craft tend to be eccentric. Mae, a Servine hailing from Nuvema Town, is no exception.

Being a Grass-type, it's only natural she's pursuing a career in botany. She believes there may be an evolutionary link between Grass-type species and plants. Failing that, she can always look into Grass-types exhibiting plant-like behaviors. That qualifies as botanical research, right?

Since she's an eccentric, Mae's not one for small talk. She can hold a conversation decently enough, but she'd rather talk about more interesting things. Like her studies! Those always make for a good topic!

Honestly, given her single-mindedness, it's hard for her to concentrate on anything else. That master's degree is all well and good, but a Ph.D would make a world of difference. Complacency has no place in expertise, and Mae would love nothing more than to be recognized as an expert.

Aside from making a scientific breakthrough.
