Saturday, Daytime
Yu Narukami’s summer in Inaba had now hit a lull. Compared to the P-1 Climax last Golden Week and the chaos that occurred just before the Love Meets Bonds Festival, there was nothing to do. Though, as self reflexive as someone who saved the world about three times already could get, he figured he was getting to greedy if he asked for a fourth.
His days consisted of spending time with his girlfriend Rise Kujikawa, hanging out with Yosuke and Teddie, or completely dependent on a call or text from any of his other friends.
Pi-Pi-Pi-Pi-Pi
There it is, he thought, smiling. He checked the screen, noting Yosuke’s name flashing on the screen.
“Yo,” Yu said, leaning back on the couch. “What’s up?”
“Hey, partner,” Yosuke greeted. “We’re getting the gang together. We’ll be at the Junes food court if you want to come.”
“I’ll be there,” Yu said, just glad he had something to do for the day.
Yu made his way down the stairs, finding his younger cousin Nanako sitting in front of the TV. “Hey, Nanako-chan, I’m heading to Junes. You want to come?”
The girl’s eyes brightened at the prospect of going to one of her favorite places in the world, which was rivaled only by Destinyland. However, a crushing disappointment resounded in her heart as she remembered the homework she had yet to start. “No thanks, big bro,” she said, her voice lowering. “I have homework.”
Yu nodded, stepping out towards the doorway. “Maybe some other day then.”
Nanako let out an appreciative hum.
The weather was bright and clear, the perfect kind of day to spend outside with friends. Any sense of urgency was gone, and the town of Inaba was allowed to go back to its sleepy ways. Yu even opted to walk to Junes instead.
By the time he got there, Yu noticed his regular squad of friends sitting at a picnic table. They had taken a spot under the shade, yet they were still fanning themselves in an attempt to get over the heat.
Rise noticed him first and immediately jumped up to hug her boyfriend. Yu simply widened his stance and let Rise leap onto him. They held their embrace for a moment before Rise let go. She grabbed his hand and led him to the table.
Then something caught Yu’s eye.
A door to the Velvet Room appeared from thin air. It was at the other side of the food court, but it was unmistakable.
“Uh, excuse me for a moment,” Yu said, getting up. The others watched him walk away, a bit surprised that he was already leaving. Then they all saw what he was walking to.
“Hey, Yosuke, was that door always there?” Chie asked.
“N-no!” Yosuke hummed. “This is weird.”
Yu gave them a simple wave. “It’ll only be a minute,” he said before stepping into the door.”
Then he disappeared. The door did, too.
“That’s some weird shit,” Kanji commented. “Is senpai gonna be alright?”
“Isn't that the door he told us about a while ago?” Naoto asked.
“I think it is,” Yukiko said. “But why can we see it now?”
There was another bright light. This time, however, it was right in front of them, taking shape. It was another door, just like the one Yu walked through but much… smaller.
Their eyes widened as a boy their age with messy black hair stumbled out. | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
