He briefly reviewed the terms and conditions of the agreement. Most were pretty basic and understanding, and he already met all of those. No smoking; check. Clean record; check. Must be able to pay half of rent when it's due; check.
There was only one condition that stood out to him: "Must be willing to adhere to dress code."
Curious, he looked up this particular apartment complex, and as far as he could tell, the guidelines mentioned nothing about a dress code. Then he realized; the other lodger was the one with the dress code. However, the dress code was not really specified anywhere in her profile.
Nonetheless, James figured whatever the dress code was, it would not be unreasonable. Probably just no see-through or revealing clothing, or something like that.
In any case, this was by far the best option. Everything else was either too far away, in a dangerous part of town, or owned by a total stranger.
Thus, James filled out an application and submitted it.
Within twenty-four hours, he was notified that his applications had been accepted, much to his delight.
