You lead Joe down the stone staircase into a massive cavern seemingly just below the house. Seeing your bother's worrisome expression, you giggled. "The doorway under the stove has a teleport enchantment on it." Bemused, you explained. "We are miles away from the house so no worries of it falling in."
"Anyone unaccompanied by a witch will find themselves teleported somewhere at random so don't you try to enter without me or Gina present." Smiling, mom added.
Upon reaching the cavern floor, Joe looked around in awe. The walls at the cavern's far ends seemed to have been lined with an endless number of books from the floor to the high ceiling. There was also a vast circular garden with a wide variety of plants growing and several table stations which were used for any number of reasons. You smiled as he gazed upon the various broomsticks hanging in a glass display and the seemingly endless shelves of vials and beakers filled with potions in another, both locked tight.
"This is just the main room of mom's lair." Smiling, you said. "There are several smaller caverns further in for more advanced forms of magic."
"One step at a time, Gina." Lightly scolding, mom said. "This cavern alone holds a lot for Joe to take in; it will take a while for him absorb it all."
"What do you do down here?" Curious, Joe asked.
"I come here for various reasons." Calmly, mom said. "I come here to practice my magic, learn new spells and potions, make potions for various reasons and..." She giggled before finishing. "And to get away from your father for a short while when he drives me crazy."
Joe chuckled at that then asked. "What did you want to show me first?"
