Your name is Andrew Mercer and you live in a small town called Silver Creek out in the middle of nowhere. Silver Creek is named after a creek that has the same name that runs through the town. The town's population is perhaps 3,500. It was once a mining town back in the 1900s but the Great Depression effectively killed it; it's slowly turning into a ghost town now.
You're 24 years old have have short brown hair and average looks. You work at the only grocery store in town.
You just love to stargaze with the telescope you got one Christmas when you were sixteen. You never discovered anything awesome like a new planet or anything...not that you're looking to discover anything..you just like looking up at the night sky. You stargaze on a high hill that overlooks the town and the surrounding area.
One night you're stargazing through your telescope when you spot something coming out towards the woods and get curious. "Huh?" you ask. You home in a little closer and see that the creature coming out of the woods is somewhat large. It almost looks inhuman, but you can't get a clear look since the creature is in the shadows, but the one thing you know is that it doesn't look like any Earth animal you see.
You immediately run down to check out... whatever that thing was. You grab your coat along with a backpack and quickly throw in a flashlight along with a baseball bat, a hockey stick and some pucks. Then you remember to put in an air horn and super soaker in case the creature in question is hostile.
You make it to the outskirts of town and hide behind a chain link fence as you wait for the thing to come forward. From the looks of it the creature was bigger than a human and looked animalistic based on the shadow. The creature appeared to be breathing heavily, as if it was injured somehow. You take a closer look with your flashlight and get a good look and you can hardly believe what you see. The creature looked female in appearance but definitely was no human.
From the looks of it she was an anthropomorphic hippopotamus woman who had to stand exactly twelve feet tall and very heavy looking given her species. She had long red hair reaching down to her considerable rear and a red tattoo of what looked like claw marks and a crescent moon over one of her eyes. What was really freaky was than she was wearing what looked like a spacesuit with a red vest, blue speedo and black leggings and armlets. On her vest's shoulder was the same symbol that was tattooed over her eye and she seemed to be wearing some kind of belt along with a scouter like device at the side of her head.
The hippo woman then presses a button on the device. "This is Commander Barrah Nova of the thirteenth Star and Claw fleet calling home Planet Ju-O. My crew and I are stranded on an unknown planet. Not sure if natives are friendly or hostile, but from the looks of it, they don't do a very good job taking care of their planet. I am approaching a nearby village."
Aliens. Alien animals no less. This hippopotamus woman was obviously leading a crew of beast people flying over head when something happened. But why are these aliens here? What purpose? Are they friendly or hostile?
