Mary Jane: Proving Yourself

"Mary? It's time to go and visit grandma and grandpa!" Mommy said that day.

Secretly, her mother had been dreading this. Mary Jane, 3 years old, still in Pull-Ups during the day. It was going to be a disaster.

"Why is she like this?"
"When you were her age, you were in underwear!"
"Your brother was trained by 1 and 1/2!"

A storm of criticism of her parenting skills.

All she could hope for was to keep asking her to go potty so no accidents would reveal that Mary Jane wasn't fully trained.

And so, the trip to them for the long weekend was planned. Dad and Mom and Mary Jane had everything packed, and got into the car.

"Mary Jane? Do you need to use the potty?" Dad asked, just before they left.
