Chapter #6

Clinging onto a legend's shoelace

(For the record, Red's 14 in GSC/HGSS and 16 in Black 2 and White 2. His appearance is the same anyway, (supposedly), so let's just say this is B2W2 Red.)

Out of sudden reflex and desperation, you ran to the teen's shoelace as the shoe you were standing on kept rising, nearly making you lose your balance. You lunged towards the lace and cling on the very tip with your arms and legs, as it waved with the motion, making you feel dizzy.

Red meanwhile decided he was done resting and to continue his trek through the forest clearing.

"Great, just great..." You muttered to yourself as the lace kept waving back and forth with every step, desperately trying not to get flung off. "I'm suddenly shrunk to the size of a Joltik, with no clue where I am, and the only person that can help is a legendary trainer that can't even notice me..."

Still, you figured, it could be a lot worse. If it wasn't for your quick thinking and reflexes, you'd still be stuck near that stump, with no clue what might find you next. Hell, you'd be nothing more than a tiny red stain on Red's sole if you didn't dive out of harm's way.

As the trainer's trek continued, you kept trying to get him to notice you, constantly calling out his name. Like before, Red didn't even look like he noticed your shouts, the responses always ending up as,

"..."

...much to your dismay and frustration.

It was honestly surprising that he didn't encounter any wild Pokemon yet. You'd at least like to know what region you could possibly be in and see if you left your home region or not before shrinking, (the details were still fuzzy in your mind about what exactly happened). Even at this time of night, there were usually some Pokemon out and about. You should know as a night owl yourself.

"Actually, does Red even sleep to begin with?"

You felt a bit dumb for asking that. Of course he does, everyone needs sleep, yet you couldn't imagine such a stoic trainer sleeping for long. Red looks like the type of person that wouldn't stay in one place for long, (you still think those rumors of him being on Mt. Silver for 3 years straight was absurd. He was most likely training a bit and Ethan was lucky enough to spot him before he left.) Given how short he stayed at that stump, you seemed to be correct on that assumption.

Speaking of which, you also wished he was resting a bit longer at that stump because the constant motion of the lace moving back and forth a lot was starting to give you motion sickness, severely regretting your method of travel on this titan of a teenage boy. You might not be able to hold on much longer. Thankfully, Red decided to stop for a moment, giving you some time to catch your breathe and stop your eyes from spinning. You briefly wondered why he stopped and soon found out it was because...

You have the following choices:

1. Red was tired, wanting to sleep here for the night.

*Noteb*
2. A wild Pokemon appeared in front of him.

*Noteb*
3. Reader's choice.

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
