You find yourself lying on a tree branch.
A very small tree branch! A very small tree branch that's part of a really really big tree! A really really big tree the size of a skyscraper and you find yourself glancing down to the earth which looked to be hundreds of feet below you!
"EeEeEEYYYAAAAHHH!!!" you squeal in terror as your rational fear of heights kicks in double-time! You had no idea how you kept your balance while you were unconscious, cuz now that you were wide awake and well aware of how dangerously up in the air you were, you were wobbling like mad!
"Ok ok ok ok! Dont panic!" you tell yourself, trying to calm your nerves, "just remain calm. Take deep breaths. Dont look down. Well, look down, but dont look THAT far down! Man, how high am I-DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT HOW HIGH YOU ARE!!"
Your efforts to calm yourself failed miserably. Not only that, all your wobbling was proving to be far more than the branch could handle! You do whatever you could to rebalance yourself to stop the wobbling, but to no avail.
Then SNAP.
"Oh shit!" you whispered after seeing one of the branch's twigs snap right off!
SNAP.
Then another.
SNAP.
Then one right in front of you!
"OH SHIT!" you shouted and dashed back as the rest of the twig snapped in pieces and plummet behind you! Thankfully, you managed to cling onto a much more sturdy limb with was plenty enough to handle your weight and then some! But you couldnt breathe a sigh of relief when you saw every single piece of that branch you were sleeping on fall and land in the grassy earth far below you. You barely woke up and already you cheated death.
It was then you realized your predicament. Perhaps you werent on a giant tree. Perhaps youre on a normal sized tree and you mustve shrunken somewhere between here and that portal with eyes! Judging by the scenery out in the distance, you seem to be stranded in the middle of a forest. Who knows what forest. Who knows if youre near home. Who knows where 'home' even is at this point. That sadly might have to be left on the back burner for a while, cuz your top priority at the moment is your size disadvantage. Wherever you plan on going, you wont be going very far at your current state. Youre gonna need help and to get help, youre gonna need to be discovered. And not by predators. Which you now have a lot more of than before!
"Ok, this is quite a lot to sink in," you say yourself, mentally over encumbered, "ugh. I guess I'll worry about all that after I get off this tree. ...Now how am I gonna get off?"
Somebody up there mustve wanted to answer that question, cuz soon as you asked that, the limb you were standing was rumbling about! It rumbled about so much, you easily lost your balance and found yourself clinging for dear life to it with your arms alone! Thankfully, the limb was very strong. It rumbled and shook, but did not break. You still needed to worry about losing your grip though.
The cause of the limb rumbling so much was nearby. Not far from you was a very very long rope tied to the limb and tied to that rope, far below you see a really huge bucket swinging to and fro from that very limb you were clinging to!
You squinted your eyes down to the bucket (while trying to focus on seeing ONLY the bucket, not the earth far far below the bucket!). It was unknown what was causing said bucket to swing. It wasnt at all windy, otherwise you'd probably be blown off the limb by now! Maybe something's in it?
"Oh crap! AW CRAP!!" uh oh. You were losing your grip faster than you thought! The swinging was to much for you to put up with! And you couldnt climb back up on the limb while it was rumbling so chaotically! At this point it was inevitable! Youre gonna fall! All you could hope to do is decide where you land!
Fortunately, that swinging bucket could break your fall. It wasnt THAT far below you Might not be the softest landing, let alone the safest, but it was better than being a smear on the ground. Of course, that was provided you dont miss the landing while it's swinging so much! And that's not even taking into account what's in the bucket that's making it swing so much!
So much to consider, but you only had to seconds before you lose your grip, so better hope for the best!
"AAaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh...." and down you went, hoping you timed your descent properly!
You plummet further and further down toward that swinging bucket until finally you....
