This choice: A magic reality altering voice recorder • Go Back...Chapter #5A magic reality altering voice recorder by: Jedi knight   Toby set his cleats & clothes in the corner then walked up beside Sam as Sam opened the box to find the box full of packing peanuts. Sam dug through the packing peanuts until he found a small black voice recorder & a piece of paper. Sam read the instructions out loud, “Sam. Here is the magic voice recorder you ordered. This can alter reality by any record you make. To make a record hold the recorder in your hand & push the record button. Speak in to the microphone then push the stop button once you’re done. Your record will become reality immediately. Only the person holding or touching the recorder will see the changes & know how reality was originally unless recorded otherwise. You can literally change anyone, anything & you the user of the recorder will be the only one to notice the changes. There’s just about nothing you can’t do with the recorder. Have fun & be careful.”
Sam said, “so what do you think Toby?” Toby replied, “magic isn’t real. I’ll prove it to you right now.” Before Sam could react Toby grabbed the recorder. Toby pushed the record button as he brought it up to his mouth & said, “Sam’s tv is a 100 inch screen tv instead of a 30 inch screen tv like it is now. Sam & I can both see this change.” Toby pushed the stop button & immediately Sam’s tv tripled in size as as the things around the tv shifted over to accommodate the much larger tv. Once everything stopped shifting Toby sputtered, “did you see that Sam? It actually worked! It actually worked!” Sam replied, “I did. I love the huge tv. I didn’t know if it would work but obviously it does work on inanimate objects. But now the question is does it work on people. I’m going to assume it does. But right now I got to go use the restroom quick.” Sam walked in to his bathroom as Toby said, “well let’s not just assume it works on people. Why don’t we do another test. But this time on me.” Sam said, “ok.” Sam then shut the door.
Once Sam’s bathroom door was closed, Toby raised the recorder up to his mouth & pushed the record. Toby said, “I have long shaggy blond hair that reaches below my shoulders & I have blue eyes. I reached the same 7 feet tall height as Sam as a freshman in high school. I have the same large muscular physique proportionally I have as a 7 foot tall guy as I have currently.” Toby pushed the stop button as Toby heard the toilet flush. Suddenly Toby could see his view rising up as he felt a warm tingling feeling flowing through out his body. Toby walked over in front of Sam’s wide 8 feet tall full length mirror. Toby was shocked to see not only was he growing taller but his muscles seemed to be growing with his height like he was hit by some kind of growth ray. Then Toby noticed his eyes had turned from green to deep blue. Toby also noticed his some what long shaggy brown hair had turned completely blond all the way down to the roots as if he’s a natural blonde haired guy. His hair is now really shaggy & stopped growing as it now reaches just below his shoulders.
Just then Toby heard Sam washing his hands. A few minutes later Sam walked out & walked over to stand by Toby. Sam however seemed to be totally un phased by the changes Toby had made to himself. Sam asked, “so what changes did you want to try on yourself?” Toby said, “actually. I already made the changes. Can you not see them?” Sam replied, “you didn’t change anything. You’re the same as the day I met you at the beginning of the school year.” Toby stepped closer & said, “look in to my eyes. Don’t you find the color of my eyes different than they used to? Don’t you find it odd that you can look directly into my eyes now? Don’t you notice my hair is longer, shaggier & a different color than it used to be?” Sam replied, “no. Like I said before you’re the same as the day I met you. Well you’re actually quite a bit bigger than me muscle wise than when I first met you. But even when I first met you, you were easily bigger than me muscle wise even though you were & still are the same height as me. Your eyes are the same blue eyes you’ve always had. Are you trying to say that up to a few minutes ago I had to look up to look you in the eye? Besides that your hair is the same it’s always been.” Toby replied, “actually. You’re wrong. I changed my hair, eyes & my height. I just figured out why you can’t remember how I normally am. Remember the instructions said only the person holding or touching the recorder would notice the changes unless stated otherwise. I forgot to record that you would notice the changes I made in this last record.” Sam asked, “what did you record?” Toby replied, “I recorded my somewhat, long shaggy brown hair would get longer & shaggier & that it would turn blonde like I were a natural blonde haired guy. I also recorded that I reached 7 feet tall the same height as you when I was a freshman in high school. I recorded that I would now have the same large muscular physique proportionally that I had when I was 5 feet 3. In the new reality I reached 7 feet tall when we were freshmen in high school. Where as you reached 7 feet tall at the beginning of the school year after a massive growth spurt. That means I had like 4 years in the new reality to build a much larger muscular physique than you. That explains why I’m so much bigger than you muscle wise in this new reality.”
Toby looked at Sam to see Sam looked really unsure & didn’t look like he believed him. Toby said, “I can see you don’t believe me yet & that’s my fault. I’m going to fix that right now.” Toby pushed the record button, “Sam is now aware of the changes I made now. Sam & I will be aware of all of the changes made with the recorder for now on unless recorded otherwise.” Once he pushed stop Sam’s eyes opened wide as he realized the truth & said, “whoa. Now I see you were telling me the truth. I must say I love the blue eyes. I must say I love the fact that you’re so tall now & bigger than me. But why’d you grow yourself so tall & big? I’m just curious.” Toby replied, “Well I’ve always been a short guy my whole life. I wanted to experience life as a tall guy for once but I didn’t want to be really skinny like Tyler. So I wished that I had the same large muscular physique proportionally that I had as a 5 feet 3 inch tall guy. I just didn’t realize I would be bigger than you.”
Sam said, “It’s nice not to have to look so far down to look you in the eye now. Just so you know I bought this because it was cheap but also I thought if it works I could use it to see the world from different perspectives & other things. I ordered this a few weeks before I met you so I wasn’t going to tell anyone about this. But now that I’ve met you & I consider you one of my best friends how about you & I share this as long as you agree not to use it against me.” Toby replied, “that sounds great. So what do you want to do now?”  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
