He wasn't proud of what he had bought. And he could be expelled from the team if they found out.
It was some body enhancing drugs his best friend Tyler recommended, made by a mysterious magic shop.
He swore they could make an full developed adult to grow an extra foot or tons of muscle. In other circumstances Sam would never believe in shaddy magic potions nor spent any money in them (although they were quite cheap).
But after Tyler showed him photos of his high school senior years, and he looked so scrawny and short than even his female schoolmates were taller than him.
Completely different from his actual self, a muscular 7'10" top basketball player that with that muscle mass if he wanted he could play football and knock down his adversaries like a bowling ball against skittles.
Growing 3 feet and 132 pounds of muscle in 2-3 years was impossible, unless he had got some unnatural help.
And that was why he decided to try it after his performance worsened that year due to his bad eating habits and a small lesion that took months to heal (he couldn't train during that time). So the magic drugs were his best shot to secure his place in the team.
He opened the box and found much more that he expected: There were like 50 vials, all with cryptic tags like 'second puberty', 'skyscraper' , 'happy belly', 'ladykiller', 'Samsonic', something blurry... roughly 10 vials of each type, he estimated. He didn't know which test first. He didn't know if he should, as the tags didn't say anything about its effects. The only warning Tyler had said to him was that "They hard to quit."
His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the door opening. He heard heavy steps coming closer, but he couldn't hide the box on time.
It was his little brother... although he wasn't little anymore.
"Sam!" A imposing figure that dwarfed Sam proceeded to hug him so tightly he barely could breath. When he stop Sam got a view of his face and recognized him as his youngest brother Joey (although his features were sharper, more mature than when he was 12). His ridiculously height was one thing, but the weight of his shoulders was also incredible, like a foot broader than Sam... that enormous body cast a shadow that covered his former bigger brother. And all that body was filled with so much muscle he wondered how he could move.
"I missed you so much, big bro!"
Joey scrubbed his hand over Sam's head, hurting him a little. 4 years ago, it was the 7 footer Sam who used to do that to the little Joey to tease him.
Clearly the tables had turned.
"I'm happy to see you too." Sam said a little dizzy "I thought you were training."
"I left early. The coach told me I didn't need to train as much as my teammates."
"Surely you've grown a lot since the last time I saw you." He couldn't help but admit that fact.
"Hehehe." His little brother loved to hear that. "Yeah, I'm the tallest student ever from my High School" A title that belonged to Sam a few years ago. "And I'm not even 16! I probably have a few years of grow ahead."
"Yes, I saw your mark. 7-10 is almost a world record."
"That mark? It's from a month ago. I likely outgrew it since then. Come, help me measuring me!"
Sam didn't fancy to do it, but he gave in and do it.
"7... 11..." He couldn't believe his little brother, a teen, was already taller than the tallest person he had ever met, Tyler.
"Cool... although I expected to be an 8 footer by now."
The scary thing he had all the change of becoming one sooner than later...
"By the way, bro, I noticed you neglected yourself a LITTLE these years..." He commented pointing at his belly.
"My coach asked me to get more mass! It's good for football!" Although it was true, maybe he overdid it a little...
"I prefer gaining pure muscle mass!" Joey claimed proudly as he flexed his biceps, swelling a lot.
Joey glanced at the open box, but his older brother hurried to distract him before he could wonder what it was.
"Where's Ian, Dad and Mom?"
"They went shopping, they will arrive at any moment."
Sam felt curious about the looks of his other brother, now a high school senior. He didn't any height mark of his since the last one, from 4 years ago...
