"Three hours? You mean it's one o'clock already?" You stood up in shock. Big mistake. Your feet ached even more, weakened from the fall, and weakened even further from suddenly standing up. You looked down, yes DOWN, at Jessica, waiting for an answer.
"WHOA, you're huge! Let's measure you again!"
Jessica completely forgot about your predicament. You limped to the measuring wall and waited. "Wow, you've grown past the seven feet mark! That's as tall as the measuring wall gets. And to think I was six inches taller than you yesterday."
Over seven feet? Will I ever stop growing?
You hear a voice. "Jessica?"
"Yes, mother?"
"We should probably take your friend home. Get in the car."
Jessica looked aghast. "But, Mom! She's grown huge! She probably won't fit in the van."
"It's called puberty, Jess. Get in the car."
You interrupt. "Jessica's mom? You can't take me home. There's no parents at my house."
"OK, if you say so," Jessica's mom says back. "Give her some rest, Jessica. She must be in terrible pain."
"Mom!"
"Alright, then I'll have to throw away your basketball."
"Fine!" While Jessica goes upstairs, you lie on your belly, trying to get some sleep. Jessica comes back with a wide assortment of pillows and blankets. "This should help you go to sleep. Good night."
