Being the tall girl she is, Jessica had taken up basketball, hoping she'll still be enormous by adulthood. The two of you head outside and play some one-on-one around the seven-foot hoop. You were both acclaimed as good players, but she almost always wins, towering six inches above you. You still enjoyed it, especially with the satisfaction of shooting a three-pointer under her nose.
You played rock-paper-scissors to see who gets ball first. Your paper was cut by Jessica's scissors. She grabbed the ball and walked to the half court line.
"Check," she says, passing the ball to you. You passed back, and the game began.
Jessica held still, then started dribbling the ball slowly to your right. She juked and made a quick break to your left. You anticipated the move and snatched the ball from her hand. "Oh, nice move!" she exclaims.
You take the ball back to the half-court line, in possession. You dash to the left, cut back, then sprint to the hoop. Out of the corner of your eye you notice Jessica catching up to you, in an attempt to "cap" the lay-up you were about to execute.
Everything went wrong. Jessica jumped and accidentally tackled you, her aim outrageously off. The two of you crash to the ground. You feel a sharp pain and blacked out.
