This choice: Try and recruit one of your friends • Go Back... You figured a good place to start would be your best friend, Abel. Abel had been your friend since you were kids. About a year and half older than you, more of a sports guy than you. The guy was big and strong and not exactly the brightest but he had your back when it counted. You were close in spite of your different interests, he didn't really get your interest in RPGs, but he was down for playing split-screen FPS games whenever you hung out.
When you got over to his place, he was home alone. His mom always left for work early. "Hey man, what's up?"
"Nothing much, though my mom got on my case to clean my room this morning." Abel remarked, seemingly obstinately refusing to clean his room as he watched TV.
"Can you blame her? I surprised you can sleep in there."
"Eh, it's fine. I know were everything is in there." He shrugged. "How about you? You wanna hang?"
"Actually, about that..." He started, carefully monitoring your status screen. "You see, I woke up this morning and there was this screen for "Your Life!: The Game: The Reality". It's like my life has actually turned into an RPG." You told him a little excited and a little nonchalantly, as the status screen popped up, marking Abel as a potential party member.
Abel gave you a funny look, before chuckling, "Uh huh, more like you were staring at the TV for so long the image got burned into your eyes."
You gave an exaggerated shrug, "It was pretty long night. But I did finally build my team to be perfect." You said with a flourish of your hands to disguise you pushing the tab to recruit him.
[Abel joined the party!]
The text blared, though Abel didn't seem to react.
'Figures'. you thought. As you suspected, unless you were consciously thinking about the screen didn't open, and all the status info for things and the game didn't really appear unless you focused on it with that in mind. The RPG averse Abel probably wouldn't figure it out unless you told him.
Discreetly you checked his stats, as you figured, his strength was pretty high. His masculinity was near maxed and his femininity was at a 1, his dexterity was surprisingly rather middling for an athlete, though his charm was pretty decent. Then you noticed his partner ability:
[Trusted Friend - As long as Abel is in the party, both you and Abel gain 20% boost experience, if the activity is done out of trust.]
[Abel grants a bonus to growths in strength and bonus experience to skills related to physical activity.]
Those were some interesting perks, an you had to admit you were getting curious to what would actually happen if you went around messing with your stats.
The question is: Do you test it with Abel first, or do try something together? indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
