Chapter #6Encourage Ouija Session by: Neon You nodded silently, holding an awkward smirk as Mary's apparent sadistic streak shined through, before slipping off your backpack to get the Ouija board and EVP devices. You were almost instinctually going to set the bag on the rickety old rocking chair next to you, but just as you turned to look at the chair, you got an unnatural chill up your spine, and you knew that was a bad idea.
"Go head," Mary urged impatiently, "Set it in the chair. It'll show her your not scared," She said motioning her hand toward the chair.
Put on the spot all of a sudden, you looked back and forth between the chair and Mary as you wondered what to do. Then you saw the rocking chair jerk toward you slightly, making a hellish scraping noise across the floor. Yep, that decided it.
You shook you head as you quickly walked away from the chair and toward Mary, never setting your backpack down, "Nope. Nope. Nope," You mutter beneath your breath.
You made sure to position yourself where you could see the rocking chair across the room with Mary to your left and your back to the hatch and your face to the window before sitting down on the floor and unzipping the bag.
You produced the board, a few candles, and a lighter and set them down next to you, where Mary almost instantly picked them up and began lighting them and forming a circle around the board. You produced a camera from the bag and took a moment to adjust the settings before setting it down opposite you and Mary so that it could capture the session. You wanted proof if something happened, and you also wanted to look over the footage in case it caught something you or Mary didn't.
"Okay, I think we're ready to start," You say under your breath as you place the LED lighted planchette on the board.
"Who should ask the questions? You or I?" Mary inquires, placing two of her fingers on the planchette.
You knew Mary was eager to be the one to talk to the spirit, but you weren't sure that was a good idea considering how angry she was and how much negative energy she could incite. Furthermore, as much as it disgusted you that the ghost wanted you, you knew you could work that in your favor by being provocative, thus using yourself as bait. And if your could lure her into the physical realm, and then take a picture with your old, antique camera, you could trap her in the physical realm long enough to bind her to your command.
"I think it would be best if I did," You replied to Mary, hoping she wouldn't press the matter.
"Fine," Mary scoffed, slightly perturbed.
You placed your fingers on the planchette, careful to keep your fingers just barely touching the board to allow for the best communication.
"We know you're here, we would like to talk," You said, your hand shaking slightly as a sense of even more overwhelming dread came over you. You felt like she was right behind you. But you didn't turn round, you didn't want to let her know she was getting to you.
The planchette didn't move, but you did feel it vibrate slightly, but that could have been attributed to your quivering fingers.
"Your being too nice," Mary argued, "You need to provoke these kinds of spirits. After all, she wants to scare and dominate you, wouldn't she crave that more if you were a dick to her?"
You looked at Mary, fear still in your eyes, "I'll let you try in a minute," you hiss.
Mary sighed in staring back down at the planchette.
Meanwhile you ponder another thing to say. There was a moment of silence between you and Mary, accompanied only by the sound of the howling wind outside and the faint smell of the ghost's feet, whose toes were likely wriggling in anticipation of savagely dominating you. The thought made you cringe, and cringe even more as you realized you were screwing yourself over by using yourself as bait.
You sighed in dread as you decided to bring out the big guns as a last effort to elicit a response before handing the communication role over to Mary. "Can you tell me about that photo you stepped on downstairs?"
Mary looks up at you as you stare down at the board, her eyes wide in shock... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
