Waking Up #3

by: Mr. George Author IconMail Icon
The small hiss of pain, is mortifying, and each of you are guided to nearby beds. Stifling a yawn, you feel the drugs already going to work.

"Can I be firmer?" your mum asks in a dreamy voice, "or younger..." her voice drifting into a slur. Sure, that she meant to say something more comforting, and certainly not those honest impressions, you keep your mouth shut.

"I'd like a longer cock..." your father said with a giggle. Part of you shudder, as you realise you'll be entirely different after this.

"Had to bloody see..." he mutters again. You want to rage, this wasn't your fault. You didn't choose to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. But, even as you open your mouth, your throat is too imprecise to form any words.

The mattress feels softer and deeper than any you've ever experienced. You feel the sensor pressed against your forehead. As you drift, your fingers and toes become dull and distant. The nervous shifting and fidgeting fading as you lose touch with them. Your arms and legs are too heavy to lift or even move. The warmth of the beds is incredible, as you focus on your breathing. Only the steady rise and fall of the sheets. Frowning and relaxing, allows you to feel the sensors stuck there.

"They're so innocent..." One of the technicians mutters, as he checks your readings. A dopey 'Huh...' comes from your loose lips. A whole world of possibilities opening up like a chasm before you...

You never thought of yourself as sexist, or racist, or at least hoped you weren't but the possibility of inhabiting a different body is intriguing and terrifying. As you drift off, you find even your creased forehead loses any sensation. Just the steady breathing, in and out...

You can't feel the weight of the blankets, and then you're lost in a featureless blank void. Panic gripping you, in the absense of sensation, you can't even tell how long you were there...even if there was there.

Then the weight returns, you feel the blankets once more. Wondering what you're going to wake to see.
