After returning to the lab Adam resumes thinking of a plan when to his horror in pops a colleague
Doctor Tricia Allens.
She’s a blonde 20 something genius not as gifted as Adam but still gifted in her own right.
She stands 5’11” and isn’t overly attractive but still not bad looking.
“Adam what are you doing here on an off day and with a non student no less”
she asks.
Crap Adam was about to be busted. It didn’t help Mia innocently spoke up.
“Mommy had to go away and big brother is watching me”
Tricia looked over at the 5’10” girl but something seemed off.
“Odd you told me you had a younger sister but you failed to mention she’s taller than you”
Then Tricia noticed something.
“Wait a minute where’s the experimental Quantum Organic Modifier Serum? And why does something seem off about your sister.... OH MY GOD PLEASE DONT TELL ME YOU DID WHAT I THINK YOU DID”
“Crap! Wait I can explain it’s not what you think”
Suddenly Mia just blew your cover and attempted lie
“Big brother you said you didn’t get smaller but now my teddy bear is smaller too”
Damn this was boding well for Adam.
“You were saying Adam? I can’t believe you’d use a child your sister no less as a guinea pig! Do you have any idea what you’ve done? That serum isn’t even tested much less there’s nowhere near close to a cure or reversal serum”
Adam went pale.
“I-I bu- It was an accident it wasn’t like I did it on purpose”
“Accident or not you’re still responsible”
Mia interrupted again.
“Big brother please do some my teddy is smaller and so are you”
Adam sighed it was time to come clean.
“Mia it’s not us that’s getting smaller, you’re the one that’s growing”
Mia looked at Adam now standing up at 6’2”
“Silly brother of course I’m growing, mommy says good girls who eats their vegetables grow up to be big girls”
Adam groaned internally. Did she really not get it?
Tricia spoke next.
“No dear that’s not quite what your brother means”
Mia spoke again.
“Sorry pwetty lady but mommy says never to trust or talk to strangers”
“Sorry Mia this is Tricia, Tricia this is my little sister Mia”
“Ahem now that that’s out of the way your brother means to say you are getting bigger”
Mia still didn’t quite get it or know how to interpret it.
She made a cute confused and thinking face then it clicked albeit in a childish way.
“Aha I got it so I’m becoming a big girl” she said.
“Well yeah I’m a matter of speaking” said Tricia without thinking.
Mia’s eyes lit up like it was Christmas morning.
“Yay I’m going to be a big girl! That means I can do things mommy and brother do and I can stay awake later”
Adam and Tricia both mentally slapped themselves.
The gravity of the situation was lost on the innocent child as was the concepts of size to some degree.
Mia was off in her own world rambling now.
Adam and Tricia for now left her to her own devices.
“So what exactly happened to Mia, how much was she exposed to and what can you tell me about her”
“Well for starters she’s a little over 3 years old. You’ve seen some of her personality already”
“Yea thank goodness she doesn’t seem the type to intentionally do harm or bratty in a bad way”
“Anyway she was 2’8” this morning and this is where we are now. I can’t say for sure how much exposure she had but most of her clothes had gotten soaked along with a good deal of her body. I didn’t wanna risk exposure or contamination so I dried as much as I could from her clothes with a blow dryer, wiped her down with a towel and got her dressed again minus shocks or shoes”
“Hmm I see. Well this could be a huge problem quite literally. Judging by her size and rate of growth I’d say she’s growing 2 inches per minute roughly. How long was it since the incident”
Adam looked at the clock.
“Hmmm maybe an hour or so but I don’t think the serum took immediate effect”
“Oh trust me Adam it took immediate effect it’s just that in the last batch we tested the effect on organic things such as plants particularly veggies was delayed and proportional depending on the starting size, and age of the plant plus the amount. Unfortunately several earlier test subjects had to be killed off because they got too big”
“Wait you aren’t seriously suggesting we kill my sister”
“No id never do that. Not only would it be unethical but it would be cruel to boot. Your sister is just a child and an innocent victim of circumstance plus right now she’s not a threat. Another thing is I’m aware you care about her even if you’ve complained a bit in the staff lounge on occasion”
“So then what are you saying”
“Well the situation is still not good. There’s no telling how big Mia might get and it’s definitely not something we are going to be able to cure anytime soon”
Just then Mia spoke.
“Big brother I’m hungry”
Suddenly there was an audible growl.
Adam looked at his sister and tried to keep his composure.
Mia now stood 8’4” and was still growing.
“We should probably get your sister some food and some place roomier”
With that they took her to the college’s football stadium. It was every bit as big as some of the biggest professional NFL Stadiums and best of all the campus was mostly deserted.
Aside from the 3 of them hopefully the only concern would be maintenance staff if that.
Tricia stayed with Mia as he fetched the 8’10” girl food.
Thankfully he was able to raid the concessions stands.
Mia shocked both of them by eating 35 Foot long hot dogs, 10 pre made foot long subs, 5 salads, 4 boxes of cracker jacks, 5 bags of beef jerky, and a few bags of chips.
Mia also drank 3 cases of water and 2 cases of soda.
“We should probably run some tests on her too” said Tricia.
