Kate held a a small container against the light of her lab. It had two opposing glass parts that allowed one to see dark, nearly black liquid.
"You are my ticket to the next stage!" she said to her invention.
She tended to do that kind of stuff when she lacked sleep or when the invention was really important.
And in this case, both was the case.
"On the other hand....If I made an error in my calculations...." she mumbled to herself.
She took a deep breath and remembered how her grandma used to say "nur die Harten komm in Garten" which basically meant that sometimes in life you gotta be tough!
So she took 7 syringes and took with each of them 1/10 of a millilitre before fixing them into a machine and having it injected into her arms, legs, tummy, chest and head at the same time.
Kate waited for a minute and when she felt ok she was already relieved, but she knew that her experiment was no success yet.
She went over to her computer and started to mash the buttons like a mad woman with a typewriter.
Sweat had formed on her forehead within her 20 minutes lasting typing fury, and then she finally pressed the final "enter".
She broke down on the spot.
But 5 minutes later she opened her eyes.
"I'm fine" she whispered "do the nanobots...work?".
She stood up.
She tried to gave the bots an order.
"Nanobots, optimise my nerve system" she thought while clearly addressing the nanobots in her thoughts.
Within seconds her horizon grew in a way she hadn't felt it like the first time she read a book.
"This is great!" she said to herself quietly before jumping in the air to shout "Eureka!".
Then she looked at her hands and said "There's so much more I can do with this!"
