Summer decided that she needed to talk to the boy in private, in a relaxed environment. At school he would watch his back. No, at home would be a much better place. Still Summer knew that since about the time of the incident he turned down most invitations to do something.
"Sis, you know Jeremy, the boy whose parents took over that shop downtown?" Mouse shook her head. How was she supposed to keep track of her bigger sister's numerous boy contacts? "I know the shop and something you said about it, but I have not seen him ever. Is he suspicious of having done something?" Summer shook her head. "Not done something, but something mysterious happened to him. I'd like to find out." Mouse cocked her head. "Why would you like to? Is he cute?" Her sister shook her head again, more energetically. "No, I mean yes, I mean I just...Hey. Stop that. I am a detective, and irrespective of the person, I want to inquire." Mouse was grinning. "Hmhm. Sure."
Her sister was just too young to understand the serious tasks assigned to such role, Summer thought. She may be of use still. Keeping her on board could mean that Summer could delegate some lower tasks to her. "He does not accept invitations and refuses to meet anyone after school. His mother picks him up just after the bell." Mouse pondered. "If they own a shop they must have money. Maybe mum wants to sell some jewels to them. We could come along." Summer frowned. Good ideas were her own resort. But maybe this was a good proposal from her assistant. What else? Meeting him by chance somewhere was not really probable. Jeremy's only closer friend was a boy one class above them. She could make friends with him. But that would need to happen quickly.
