Summer wondered why she thought of the two of the same time since as Serafine and Karen did not actually know each other too well; it's just, from Summer's entire class, they were the two who were usually alone.
Serafine was a quiet girl who had braided hair and wore specs. Her tiny, thin figure was made more jug-like by a large butt. She was nice but always seemed too shy to say what was actually on her mind.
Karen was a South American girl who was put down as the "ugly" girl of the class, though that was quite unfair - if anything, she was merely completely normal.
Not very tall, but enough to not to be called short. Neither strongly built nor thin.
And she had big feet, and a round face.
From what Summer remembered, neither had any friends at school (though Karen had a big family and definitely knew many other people). So, Summer reasoned, they probably wouldn't mind if she called one of them to the other's place to use as a meet-up spot.
She decided to call Karen first. The latino girl did not seem to mind. "Yeah, sure, I just finished taking out the wash for my mother. I'll be free soon."
She laughed when she heard what Summer was up to.
"Mysteries? Girl you got some weird ass imagination."
However, she did not make any effort to leave.
That casual attitude about her, the way she just went along with whatever her friends suggested was one of the things that made her likeable.
Serafine was trying to hide behind the door as usual when they knocked. She was wearing a sweater and cotton mary janes. She continued to sneak around behind the other two as Summer attempted to explain her idea, about asking around
However, Summer noticed that as she crept about she was stealing glances at Karen's feet. (Karen came in a pair of thick pumps but has since taken them off and now was walking around barefoot.) Summer wanted Serafine to focus on what she was talking about, but it was also unusual to see her fascinated by something.
