"Hello Kate!" Margaret beamed. "Come in out of the rain!"
Kate entered the large mansion hall and was soon greeted by Kay, who was still dressed in her pajamas.
Kay smiled at Kate, though the smile seemed forced.
"Hey Kate," said Kay giving the young girl a hug, "got caught out in the weather?"
Kate nodded.
"We can give you a hand."
Kay looked at Margaret.
"My mother's still not feeling great. I'm going to stay here and keep an eye on her. Would you mind taking Kate home?"
"Of course Miss Kay," Margaret replied, "but.....will Ms. Knox be all right?"
Kay sighed.
"I'm going to try and do what I can."
"What's wrong?" Kate interjected.
Kay shrugged.
"Rough week. Lot of stress and anxiety for her. She's closed herself off in the study for the past day and a half. Hasn't even gotten out of her pajamas. I'm gonna see if I can bring her out of it.......in the meantime, Margaret can take you back."
Margaret led Kate by the shoulder to the garage.
Kay watched them go down the hallway and disappear into the garage. Soon she heard the car engine come to life.
