You fell asleep a little early, no one came in to disturb you. You woke up nice and early the next day. You were just finishing up your breakfast when you heard the doorbell ring.
"I'll get it!" Mom said.
She was the only one fit to answer the door anyway, since she was the only one wearing a shirt and pants around the house. As you went to the sink with your dirty dishes, Mom called out,
"Brandon, it's for you! Scarlet's here!"
You ran over to the door and saw her in a sports bra and very short shorts with her gym bag in hand.
"All right, ready to get pumped?" Scarlet said.
"Heck yeah! Let's go!" You said.
The two of you went down to the basement to exercise. You started out with some small hand-weights and Scarlet took to the treadmill. Mom didn't have tons of equipment, but she had the basics to keep herself in shape.
"You know, this is kind of... I don't know... an adventure, right? You know, you and me against the world..." Scarlet said.
You laughed.
"Ha, I guess so." You said.
"Well... maybe not AGAINST the world. I mean, people want us to win. Your mom wants us to win. Claire Silver's a bitch, but she wants s to win too, you know. It makes her team look good if she wins." Scarlet said.
"Yeah, HER team. IT's all about her. It should be OUR team, if you know what I'm saying." You said.
"Oh, I know. She can be such a control freak, right? She doesn't care about us, or even having fun, she just cares about her dumb win/loss record." Scarlet said.
You lightly laughed again.
"So, you did you watch any TV last night?" Scarlet asked.
"No, I fell right asleep when I got home." You said.
Scarlet laughed.
"Ah, you wimp." Scarlet teased.
You kept on working out together for almost an hour. You were both getting sweaty, but you still had tons of energy.
