As the date of the next full moon drew closer, victims of the shadows began increasing once again. This time things were much stranger though. The victims became lethargic and seemed to have endless appetites. Constant cravings would fog their minds.
One night Junpei decided to go out to the arcade and the time flew by. Before he knew it the arcade was closing and he had to make his way home. As tried to hurry knowing the dark hour would soon begin, but unfortunately he could not make it in time. Suddenly everything dimmed and the very few people out became encased in coffins.
Junpei continued making his way home when suddenly a delicious, mouth watering scent hit his nose. His stomach growled as he realized how hungry he was. But why would such a scent be flowing now? Junpei tried to ignore it knowing it could be some trap but with each breath the smell fogged his mind more and more.
Before Junpei knew it he was walking toward the scent. Unable to concentrate, just wanting something to eat. Man he was starving…
Upon reaching the source Junpei found himself at a fast food place. He walked in and their was piles of food on the tables, and surprisingly two other men there. They were scarfing down food voraciously. Junpei suddenly became aware and went to help them. He reached a muscular man.
“Come on man, snap out of it!” Junpei yelled, pulling at the man to get up. “Mmmfh…too…good.” The man could barely get out between bites. Junpei pulled harder harder but the man would not budge, continuing to stuff his face.
Junpei made his way to the other man. He was very fat and his clothes were almost bursting at the seams. “Dude can’t you see what is happening!? You are blowing up!” Junpei yelled. The fat man just looked at him and shoved a burger in Junpei’s mouth. “Try it before you go judge, skinny.” The fat man ends with a short laugh.
Junpei with went to spit it out but the burger was heavenly, and unable to stop himself he chewed it and went for another.
“Pretty good….huh? Have….a seat.” The fat man said between bites. Junpei sat obediently and ate alongside the fat man for the entirety of the dark hour.
When it ended the power came back on and the food was gone. Junpei looked around sadly “Hey, where did the buffet go?”
“You will have to wait until tomorrow night for the free buffet, unfortunately.” the fat man said with a sigh. He then burped loudly. “Well see ya around kid, enjoy the gains.” he says with a wink and slowly plods off.
“Gains? Whats that fatty talking about Junpei says looking down.” He is then shocked to see a small gut on his torso. He must have gained 20 pounds in that short time!
“Oh no…” Junpei says before his brain starts to get foggy again. “Well it could be worse, I need to get back. I am exhausted.”
