The more Redd thought about it, the more he decided it was time to pay Mia a visit. She had been digging too deeply into his personal affairs and was asking questions he didn't like to hear. He was going to confront her eventually; even if the device didn't work, he'd find a way to shut her up. He put the device in his suit pocket and got up from his desk, heading out into the hallway.
"April, be a dear and cancel my appointments for the day, I have some business to take care of," he told his secretary casually as he straightened his tie. "An old acquaintance just called, and she's just not the kind of person I can leave waiting."
"Yes sir," she responded with a nod and a fake smile as she took notes, "consider it done."
"Knew I could count on you, dearie. Toodles!"

It was late when Redd's chauffeur pulled up outside Fey's office. "What a drab place to work," Redd mused as he got out of the car. "So ugly and cramped! Really have to pity her employees."
Redd walked into the agency without knocking, coming into a small waiting room. The fact that the door was unlocked was enough for him to realize someone was still here.
"Phoenix?" he heard a voice call from behind a door. "Is that you?" It was a woman - definitely Fey. There was some shuffling of papers, and some muffled footsteps. Redd pulled the remote from his pocket, realizing he had the benefit of surprise. If he used the device right as she opened the door, she'd have little time to react, assuming it worked. If it didn't, well, he'd just put it back in his pocket and just threaten her the normal way.
He looked over the buttons, pondering which one to use, but the sound of the footsteps was getting too close to think it over for too long. The knob to the other door began to turn, and Redd quickly pressed his thumb down on the _______ button as it opened up.
