Chapter #5

The horse goes back to sleep.

Texas acted fast and removed her hands from her nose and placed them on her mouth. She endured the ghastly gas wafting in the air and summoned everything she had to repress her groans of disgust. She remains absolutely still waiting to see what the mare would do. Seconds felt like hours and for a moment the gas was the least of her concerns. Butterscotch smacks her lips, snorts.....

And then falls back asleep. Texas lets out a sigh of relief, just as Butterscotch rips one more nasal torturing fart before returning to sleep. Once the danger has passed, Texas fans the air with her hat and resumes her search. After a good ten minutes of carefully tiptoeing around the stables, occasionally stepping in to a recent payload of poop, the sheriff couldn't find anything that could possibly hold the massive mare. Even if she did, from the looks of it she could probably smash her way out if needed.

Texas needed to find some way to put the mare out of commission. For a moment she considered putting a bullet in its head but aside from being inhumane the gunshot would probably alert Roxxie. As she examines the room again, the sheriff composes a new plan. Looking up the second floor of the barn, she climbs up and discovered crates of stolen loot. None carrying treasure but food, hay, and alcohol. As soon as she laid eyes on it, Texas gets an idea.

The first idea she notices is to get the horse drunk on stolen whiskey. If she could get the horse drunk and put her out of commission, then Roxxie can't commit her robbery or make a getaway. At least, that is if she could convince the horse to drink. The second idea is to wake up Butterscotch and have her eat all the food stored up here. Texas was confident a beast of that size would love a feast of that caliber and once she's full, she shouldn't be able to run as fast. Only problem is Roxxie would definitely notice if her steed suddenly gained an immense amount of weight.

Texas had to choose fast. Roxxie could come in at any moment and even in her sleep Butterscotch wasn't letting up on her gas.

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Get Butterscotch Drunk

*Noteb*
2. Overfeed Butterscotch

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
