Chapter #8

Patience doesn't last forever

    by: Unknown
Hermione decided to wait, she didn't want to cause trouble. She kept waiting and waiting, until it was finally night-time. It was pretty dark and you still hadn't returned. Hermione couldn't stand it anymore, she was really hungry. She decided that if you couldn't return, she might as well go off and find some food for herself.

She got up, and carefully walked towards the city. It was a good thing she waited so long, there was hardly anyone in the streets. She kneeled down and looked in a couple of houses to see sleeping people. She smiled.

"Perfect! Since Everyone is asleep, I'm sure they won't mind if I 'borrow' some food." She whispered. She quietly lifted up some roofs and started taking food. She took so much food, including entire fridges. At a couple of houses, some dogs started to bark at her. Although a little embarrassed, she was too hungry to stop. She ate everything she collected. Since it didn't fill up her belly, she kept searching.

Meanwhile, you finally got back to where your house used to be. It took you forever to find someone willing to give you a phone to use. You had made a couple of calls to your friends who said they would try to help if they could. When you got to your house, you noticed Hermione wasn't there.

"Oh no" was all you could say. You started running towards the city, hoping to catch up. You assumed it wouldn't be hard to find her, after all, she was the size of the building, you should be able to see her easily. However, that also meant others should be able to see her easily.

As predicted, the mayor had been taking a midnight walk and saw Hermione. He called the military and asked for help with the giantess. He explained everyone was asleep and pleaded that they take care of her quickly and quietly.

Hermione was laying on her side starting to chew on a tree. Though it wasn't human food, she had wondered if it would taste like a veggie to her, probably like a piece of broccoli. She didn't like the taste at all, she learned that her magic hadn't changed her taste buds much. She started to eat the human food she had collected, when soldiers arrived. Most of them were surprised that she was a young girl, just huge. The commander was out sick, so a regular soldier had been put in charge. Though he was a little frightened of her size, he was sure he could stop a child.

"You! Miss! We demand that you leave this place or else!" He commanded. Hermione dropped some bottles of soda into her mouth. She swallowed and frowned.

"I'm sorry, but am I doing something wrong? I'm not hurting anyone, am I?" She asked.

"Well no, but-" Suddenly, Hermione burped pretty loud. It shattered some windows, and caused a few people to wake up. Most people thought it was just a thunderstorm, despite the fact that there was broken glass now. Hermione burped again, making her embarrassed.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I couldn't help it." Suddenly, Hermione burped louder. This one traveled and hit neighboring cities, scaring a lot of people. She started getting so embarrassed, she started losing control of her magic again. The tanks that the army brought started floating in the air. Hermione and the others could hear the drivers yelling. Hermione tried focusing and getting control. When she concentrated, a few of the tanks floating fell back down.

"Alright, that's enough! We demand that you leave monster!" Hermione frowned. Not because she was causing trouble, but because she had just been called a monster. She roughly grabbed him and brought him to her face.

"Oh, so I'm a monster for making some mistakes, huh? So when a baby or a student makes a mistake, do you call them a monster?" She said. The soldier wasn't sure what to do. However, despite the fact that Hermione was annoyed, she put him down softly. Just when she thought the men would just leave her alone, they aimed their guns at her.

The soldier was about to give the signal, when you came out of nowhere and jumped on him. All of the soldiers stepped back, confused.

"Don't hurt her! Despite her size she's just a dumb child! She didn't mean harm!" You started yelling. Hermione was about to complain, but then kept her mouth closed for the time being. You got off the soldier, who looked pissed off, and apologized for the rough entrance.

"She's my . . . Daughter. I have been working on a machine to make food bigger to end world hunger, but then I accidentally hit her, she's my responsibility." You lied. You really hoped they would back off.

You have the following choices:

1. They did back off, giving you a warning

*Noteb*
2. They didn't leave, they didn't trust you

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
