"Blast, they are pushing through!" Kyle shouted, the green haired horsemen charging at another soldier to take them down as the rest of the forces continued to fight. Ephraim had gotten a message about some ruins that held ancient writings about the sacred stones. The royal spearman had misjudged his information however and when his forces arrived at the quiet ruins they were met with an ambush of Grado forces. Maintaining their position at the center of the ruins Ephraim's army was doing well at fighting even at such a disadvantage however the arrival of the leader of the enemy forces signaled trouble.
Valter the Moonstone, a general of Grado known for his cruelty alongside his great skills, had swooped in atop his mount and decided to meet Ephraim head on. There were a few others around, but with so many positions to defend Ephraim would have to fend for himself. "Ah, here's the little meal that keeps managing to slip out of my fingers." the mad Wyvern Knight said with a grin as Ephraim merely glared at him with his lance at the ready. "Coming against me head on like this was a mistake. I've come out of worse situations unharmed with my enemies scattered on the ground. Even you won't stop me." the lord declared proudly.
The dragon rider merely laughed to himself. "Oh no, don't misunderstand me! You are indeed a tricky little thing with a rather painful edge to you. That's why I'm going to try savoring my hunt in a brand new way. You think yourself smart, but this was my ambush you fool! Coming to the most easily defensible place in the ruins is a tactic anyone could have thought of!" he said with a wicked tone as he pulled out a black stone.
"Wait, then even this-" Ephraim began to say as he realized that he walked right in to Valter's hands and hurriedly tried to devise a plan before he could spring whatever trap he had hidden in such a place.
