After first targeting his sister Miranda, Roy searched around for something else to target. Spotting a pile of greasy, old fast food wrappers from work on the floor of his car, Roy smiled mischievously, pointed the device at the garbage, and pushed the button.
There was no flash of light, thunderclaps, or special effects of any kind.
Roy blinked, confused for a moment... then looked down closer at where the pile of burger wrappers, old ketchup packets, and dirty napkins had been.
In place of all the garbage, there was now a single, lacy white handkerchief monogrammed MM – Miranda Milford.
Roy looked up from the floorboards of the car and out through the front windshield. There, walking down the street now instead of his sister Miranda was a bizarre, human-shaped mound of garbage! Instead of skin, it was coated with greasy, waxy paper – the kind used by fast food restaurants to wrap food. The skin was wrinkled and crinkled, and bulged weirdly in several places. In a few spots, the skin had burst open revealing an oozing mixture of ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise.
The shambling creature still wore Miranda's clothing – white blouse, plaid skirt, ankle socks, tennis shoes. It even carried her pink fabric book bag. But everything was now stained with oily grease spots and splatters of ketchup and mustard.
