"Probably shouldn't involve a third party before I know it works," Apollo decided as he walked up to Vera's door and knocked. There was a moment of silence as Apollo waited, but eventually the doorknob turned and the door cracked open just a bit. "Come in..." he heard Vera say, her voice quiet and nervous.
Apollo made his way inside and followed Vera into the kitchen. Her home smelled of wet paint. "So, how's your week been?" he asked. The fact that she was working on new portraits was a good sign.
"Its been fine," she replied while preparing tea, her voice monotone. "I just finished a few more paintings. People have been interested in my work since the trial, I've had offers to put paintings up on auctions."
"That's great! You must be excited, right?"
"Yeah, I guess so," Vera replied. "I don't know though. They'll probably expect me to show up personally, all the people will ask me questions. The reporters from the trial have just started to leave me alone, I don't know if I really want to go."
Apollo reached down to the remote in his pocket. 'Awfully convenient circumstance,' he realized. "Well Vera, when would this auction be?" he asked.
"It was a sudden invitation," she replied, "next week, if I accept."
'A week?' Apollo grimaced a bit. 'The things I do for friends...'
"I think I can help you Vera," Apollo announced. "I know how you can attend the auction without getting all that attention."
"You do?" she asked. "How?"
"With this, just hold still and it'll make sense in a second," Apollo explained as he raised the remote and clicked the button.
