Chapter #3

Dual Destinies

It was early morning on a weekday, and Apollo was embroiled in the most boring part of being an attorney: paperwork. There was a lot of filing to do between cases, and the law office had just finished a hell of a case at the space center. It was an emotional roller coaster, but it was finally over, and the people involved managed to find some closure.

...and then they dumped all the paperwork off on Apollo. The moment the exciting stuff ended,Trucy and Athena made themselves scarce. Furthermore, Mr. Wright suddenly had business over at Kurain. Apollo suspected it wasn't as important as Wright led on though. Thus, Apollo was left all alone to see the case out to its boring conclusion.

Several hours later, in the mid afternoon, Apollo finally finished the paper work with an exhausted sigh. He got up and stretched his arms and legs, but was interrupted by a ringing at the door.

"Oh? A client maybe?" Apollo had wanted to relax after all that, but it would be irresponsible to turn away a potential defendant from the office just because he was tired. He walked into the cluttered lobby - filled with Trucy's props and knick-knacks, and opened the door only to find no one there but a package on the ground.

"That's odd," he muttered as he picked it up. It was a bit late for mail, and usually they wanted someone to sign for these things, but he decided to ignore it and check the package out. Laying it out on the coffee table, he tore it open and pulled out a small remote and a set of instructions. After reading it over, he was incredulous. Body Swapping was impossible... but then, one would think that spirit channeling or robot uprisings were also impossible. He thought about it, and the idea of swapping bodies was appealing. He could be like Trucy and live without a care in the world, or become someone like Mr. Wright and be his own boss. It'd be great! No one could shove paperwork on him.

He figured there was no harm in humoring whoever gave him the device. It wasn't that heavy and didn't seem very dangerous. Worst case scenario was he just asked Athena to do the paperwork next time.

Who does he try to switch with?
