Go outside

    by: Dokidope Author IconMail Icon
Richard, seeing the mess he caused with his family, leaves in shame. Hours pass as his three boys move on with their day, trying to forget their dad's outburst. The man of the house comes home to a dark and quiet welcome. He'd hoped for this and turned in for the night to his master bedroom. Once he was inside his room, he exhales with frustration. He strips down to his birthday and sits at the end of his bed. He wonders about his new gift, his boys, and begins missing his wife.

"Damnit, Jessica, I miss you so, so much," Richard says while looking down at his feet. Every time Richard feels over his head, he thinks about his late wife. He kept picturing her beautiful face and body when they met as late teenagers. He closes his eyes to keep himself from crying, her form still pictured perfectly in his mind. There was this one moment he'll never forget about her being in a bathing suit. A smile filled with sweet and sour feelings spreads across his face until he feels a strange sensation deep inside.

Richard's expression goes from longing to confusion.

"Ugh, why, why do I feel," Richard stammers as a radiating heat rises in his stomach. It spreads like wildfire to every corner of his body. His eyes shoot open in panic as he grabs his head in fear. He feels his chest become heavier, his jawline becoming smaller and rounder. Hair explodes in bountiful amounts out of his skull, cascading down a little past his shoulders. His entire body feels like it is on fire. He falls off the edge of the bed and lands hard on his knees. His body keeps shifting through expeditious metamorphism. Finally, the burning stops inside his body.

Richard gets off the floor at a slow and steady pace. He looks to the mirror where his wife used to do her make-up and gasps in shock. His reflection was Jessica, the bombshell and late wife to Richard. He raises his smaller, dainty hands to his slimmed-down face and touches it. It felt just how hers used to.

"How?" Jessica's voice says, stabbing Richard in his heart. He looks down at himself closer and sees he's in his ghost form. Confusion wracks the poor man's brain as he tries to figure out when he'd changed forms. It was then that the answer struck him. He must've subconsciously changed into his ghost form when thinking about his wife. The longing for her was so painful that his brain decided to do something about it without him realizing it. This also is supported by the fact that he turned into his late wife, not how she looked when she passed, but how he thought of her just now. He loved her to the point where this was too painful.

Richard closes his eyes and thinks of himself, his body reverts to its original self with ease. He opens his eyes again and sees himself in the mirror.

"Oh, thank god," he says with relief. He stares at his reflection and begins to get curious about how far his new ability can go. Richard closes his eyes again and thinks of himself as a woman in a beautiful dress with gorgeous earrings. He feels the fire begin to stir and spread as his body changes once more. This time he embraces the fire and the change wasn't painful but instead warm; inviting. He opens his eyes and couldn't believe his eyes.

There he, or rather, she was. A beautiful woman in a dress to fit. What's more incredible is the earrings she now wore. She reaches up to them and tries to remove them, they come off. She excitedly puts the earring back in carefully and undresses a little below her new breast, she looked ravishing. She puts her dress completely back on and wonders who to test this form on. Just how believable is this portrayal. She thinks of her sons and decided to test it on Jake.

The next day, Jake was out in a town center, eating fresco. His dad, Richard, has been shadowing him all day. Now, was the perfect chance for him to test this ability. Richard, still in the form he morphed into yesterday, sashes up to Jake's table and stands before him.

"Hi, do you mind if I sit with you?" The strange woman asks Jake.

"Uh, yeah, sure," Jake says a little out of his element. He looks her over and decides she seems ok for now.

"Thanks, I'm Rachel," says the woman as she sits across from Jake.

"Jake," he replies in kind. He looks at her amazing dress and earrings. The dress was a rose-red A-Line, Jake has never seen such a stunning shade in person. He admires the dress as the two pick up a small conversation. Richard, right now, Rachel, notices Jake continuously staring at the imagined dress. A smile spreads across her face.

(He's actually buying it, he thinks not only I'm a woman but this dress is real too.) Think Richard to himself. He's snapped back to reality when Jake repeats himself.

"I said, 'I love your earrings'," Jake says a little more clearly to Rachel.

"Oh," Rachel looks embarrassed, "I'm sorry, thank you."

"Are they ruby?" Jake asks as he leans closer, his hot breath breathing onto Rachel's neck. Rachel does her best to keep her composure and answers looking her eyes down.

"They're just Red Swarovski Crystals," Rachel replies.

"Well, they look amazing either way," he says genuinely. Rachel looks up into his eyes and decides it's time to leave.

"Maybe we'll meet again," she gives a light kiss on the cheek and gets up. Before Jake could say anything, he watches her phase into the wall right by the table. He sits there for a moment then quickly looks around, hoping someone else saw it too. No one else looks interested at his table and Jake begins to think he might've hallucinated the whole thing.

Rachel leaves the area easily without being seen and wonders what to do next.
