For as far as she could remember, Nora has always needed diapers as she had a issue where she couldn't control her bladder or bowels and as such always had accidents during childhood and during school. After meeting Nate however, he was quick to tell Nora that she really really needed diapers. She kept refusing until she had a accident at a romantic dinner with Nate, afterwards she gave in and they went to a pharmacy in Concord and bought adult diapers for her. Since that night a long time has passed, with Nora becoming a lawyer, giving birth to Shaun and buying a Mister Handy called Codsworth for help in the house. All of this while Nora was wearing and using her diapers. Despite that, Nora still claims she was a "big girl" and could make it to the bathroom without problems but Nate saw that statement be proven false time and time again. He even liked to call her in private "The Sanctuary Hills Diaper Girl". Of course, this was all kept secret and nobody on the neighborhood knew about Nora's diaper problems. In the end of the day, he didn't want to publicly humiliate his wife.
On a random day before Halloween however, the worst became reality as the air raid sirens blared through Sanctuary Hills, with the couple taking their baby to the vault and got in just before the nuclear blast caught them, all of this happened so fast that Nora thought she pooped or peed herself during the event.
