The year was 2017. The place was Happy Valley Cat Shelter. For many years, cats of all ages, breeds and nationalities had been adopted from here, sent to their forever homes. People loved the cats from here and, for years, fame and fortune flooded to the shelter. Unfortunately, that was four years ago.
Now, the once glorious shelter was little more than a decrepit ruin. The paint had long since peeled off, several windows were smashed and any power the building once had only flickered on sporadically. What had happened? Reality- that's what! Disaster struck when the property had been discovered to have been built on very poor ground; effective immediately, everyone who worked there, all the animals and anything of value had to go! In the span of a week, everything was gone and the building was abandoned... Or so it seemed.
