Chapter #6

You Sleep Next to Victoriana

    by: Ninten Author IconMail Icon
"I can find a suitable cupboard or drawer if you can't decide. I'm sure they'd be very spacious, and a handkerchief would make an excellent bedspread at your size," the woman giggled at her own clever jab.

"Actually, umm, Miss. I mean, Baroness Victoriana, I was actually thinking... Maybe I could sleep next to you?" you ask with a sad pleading expression.

The proper young woman stares blankly at you for a moment, not sure how to respond. For a moment you thought you said something you shouldn't have.

"What are you trying to suggest when you say 'sleep next to you'?" is all she asked in return.

"Well, I'm so small... And because of that, I get cold very easily. Not to mention, if there's any pests around, I'd be dead without being able to put up a fight," you reason.

"Firstly, perish the thought that there would even be any pests in this manor. The maid staff do an excellent job every day around the clock. Secondly, do you understand what you're suggesting by a man and a woman sharing a bed?" Victoriana asks you plainly. Her stare seemed deadly serious.

You forgot that sleeping together had a much more serious connotation back then. The last time she shared a bed was likely with her late husband, you wondered if she still harbored any feelings for him. But as you stared at her beautiful face and into her gorgeous eyes, it made you want to keep trying at this.

"I-I'm not trying to take advantage of you in any way, Baroness. I couldn't even if I wanted to at this size. I just feel like I can trust you, and I simply want to feel protected in my vulnerable state. I have no ill will at all, cross my heart," you say, giving a slight bow at the end to show your respect.

Once again Victoriana stared down at you with a range of emotions. After a few moments, her slightly cold stare melted away and she gave you a warm but stern smile.

"Alright little one. I trust you, so please do not betray that. You may sleep on the pillow next to mine. I will warn you though, I do tend to... be a pretty active sleeper," a slight blush appears on Victoriana's perfect face, and you are awestruck for a moment.

"I-I'll be good. And I move around a lot in my sleep as well, so I understand. Though I suppose I'd be in a lot of danger if you rolled on top of me in your sleep," you accidentally blurt out callously. Immediately you cover your mouth with your hands, hoping she didn't take that the wrong way.

Victoriana's slight smile cracks and she lets out another giggle, this time much louder than before. It seemed you hadn't offended her, thankfully.

"You're one interesting traveler, I don't think I've met anyone quite like you," she says sweetly.

You breathe a sigh of relief. Crisis averted, and now you can sleep with this beautiful Victorian goddess.

Victoriana picks you up gently and carries you over to her massive bed. After placing you on one of the many soft pillows, the woman excuses herself and steps behind a privacy wall in the corner of the room to change.

Your ears perk up as you hear the sound of rustling clothes, and you closely listen in. The giant woman hums to herself quietly as she gets redressed. A minute later she walks out and is dressed in a lovely white nightgown. It looked soft as silk and was fitted with many ribbons and frills. It almost seemed excessive, but you figured that was just the style at the time. Either way, it looked great on her, and accentuated her figure nicely.

"You look umm... really amazing," you say while your face is clearly blushing profusely. Luckily in this dimly lit room, it's hard to see.

"Thank you. Are you comfortable in those interesting clothes you're wearing?" she asks.

"Ah these? Yeah I'm good. They're not pajamas but they're fine to sleep in. Better than being naked, haha right?" you joke, but she doesn't find it as funny.

"Hmm, yes, right..." she responds.

Victoriana walks over to her bed on the opposite side of you and lifts the covers. She crawls in and gets comfy, and the impending tremors from her body moving the blankets knock you on your ass. You slide down to the bottom of the pillow and look up to see Victoriana staring down at you again with a smile.

"You look comfy," she playfully jests.

"Haha, yep, I love sleeping upside-down," you say, lifting yourself up and climbing the pillow back to your original location. "Um, thank you again, Baroness Victoriana," you say sincerely.

"You're very welcome my little gentleman. And... just Victoriana is okay."

Despite having so much responsibility for her age and growing up in a time period completely foreign to yours, you feel as if you two had made a connection. Victoriana felt young at heart, even if she was still very far behind in a social aspect. You kind of liked that conservative outlook she had, in a way. It was charming.

"Well, we should both be getting some shut-eye. I have an early day tomorrow," the old-fashioned woman announced.

"Yes, alright. Good night, Victoriana," you reply with a yawn. It had been a long day for you too.

"Good night..." she blows out the little remaining light left in the room, and turns away from you to sleep.

You both soon drifted off in the darkness of the night. But how does the whole evening go?
