This choice: Franziska lets the two of them speak, before doing anything to them. • Go Back...Chapter #9Let the fools beg by: Unknown Franziska was relishing the feeling of leaving her foolish rival staring absolutely speechless at her. The terror displayed in his eyes was so priceless to her that it made up for all the embarrassment she had to endure because of this foolish man’s consistent nature as a pest underneath her foot; one that should’ve been crushed already long ago, and she now had ability to do exactly that.
Sadly though, her moment of pure bliss was interrupted by the equally foolish assistant of his, who foolishly blabbered her foolish nonsense as foolishly as her foolish boss. The nature of her actions spoke for themselves: absolutely foolish.
“F-Franziska, what are doing?!” Maya screamed at the top of her lungs, either ignoring or unaware of the danger she and Phoenix found themselves in.
“What does it look like, you fool? When I am given an opportunity, I seize it.” Franziska said as devilishly as her behavior, never taking her eyes of the foolish pair in her palm.
“W-why are you doing this to us? This won't accomplish anything!” said Maya.
“Haha! You and your foolish defense attorney never learn, do you? Unlike fools of your status, I take pride in my work, and I am not going to let pests like you taint that pride.” said Franziska as she stomped her foot hard into the ground; the onlookers had already run away when she grabbed the two off the ground, which was definitely a wise decision.
“So that's it? Because of your stupid record, you’re doing this to me and Nick?” asked Maya.
“Don’t worry, fool, it’s much more specific than that.” said Franziska.
“What?”
“My source for revenge is more pointed, isn't it... Mr. Phoenix Wright?” Franziska said as her grin widened.
Maya immediately turned her attention to Phoenix, who was having it much worse than her. The fear he was experiencing left him utterly powerless as he stared into the eyes of his now-godlike rival. He had absolutely no clue what he should do, which didn’t matter very much, as his body and mouth were simply unable to move.
“N-Nick! Are you okay?” Maya asked with concern.
“... Maya, I.... can’t.... move...” said Phoenix with fear very apparent in his voice, which only pleased his rival more.
“Snap out of it, Nick! You’re only giving her what she wants!” Maya said, trying to comfort Phoenix to some extent.
“... But... what else... should I do...?”
“N-Nick?”
“... If I don’t give her what she wants... she might hurt you, Maya... I can’t... let that happen...”
“N-Nick....?”
“... Hmm, it seems that the fool isn’t as foolish I thought he was.” said Franziska, confident as ever.
“W-what do you mean?” asked Maya, becoming confused.
“He knows what I could do him, and yet, he’s willing to give me exactly what I want despite that?”
“W-what is he willing to give you?!”
“... Hahahaha... his life, of course.” said Franziska, sounding cruelly pleased.
At that moment, Maya felt as frozen and powerless as Phoenix; she wasn’t sure if what Franziska said was true. It couldn’t possibly be, but...
“... His life...?”
As sure as Franziska was, Phoenix weakly rose up to his feet as he kept his eyes to Franziska’s. Maya was reasonably startled by this.
“... Nick... y-you aren’t going to...”
“...”
“... N-no... you can’t...!”
“...”
“N-n-no. No! I won’t let you, Nick! You can’t do this!”
“... Not many people will miss me anyway...”
Maya felt herself collapse to her knees.
Franziska couldn’t put it into words how amazing all of this felt; she couldn’t help herself from bursting into laughter as her victory was guaranteed. Just a moment later... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
