This choice: Jenn, The Underdeveloped Freshman • Go Back...Chapter #3Jenn, The Underdeveloped Freshman by: Lok Jenn looked out the window and sighed. In the fading light she could make out all sorts of attractive men and women walking past, going to parties and mixers. She wished so desperately that she could join them, be one of the in crowd.
Turning away from the window, her dorm mirror caught her eye. I know the problem too.... she mused to herself, her thoughts drifting to her wiry frame and complete lack of curves. No matter how many doctors she went to see, no one could find anything wrong with her hormonally. She was simply destined to be a beanpole forever.
With a thump, her roommate Melissa threw open the door and thumped inside. Being a somewhat tall, heavy set woman, Melissa was stereotypically loud-mouthed and brash, in stark contrast to Jenn. She had historically blamed her vast stature on being a descendant of vikings or some other nonsense, but Jenn know it was more likely her love affair with beer and tequila that was doing her waistline no favors.
"What's up fuckface?" Melissa sneered at Jenn as she rapidly stripped down to her undies, grabbing some colorful clothes from her closet. She pulled on a somewhat too small tube dress as she took off towards her work desk.
"Oh, nothing really," Jenn sighed as she watched her roommate's large body travel with surprising speed around their double flat. "Are you going out somewhere?" Jenn took a seat on the edge of her bed as she watched Melissa dump out a bag full of makeup and nail polish on her tiny desk.
"Beta Epsilon mixer tonight! Gotta look my best to get in with those bitches!" She spoke quickly as she applied her eyeliner in their mirror. "I'm so ready to get down too, its been AGES since I've been drunk!"
I guess last night didn't count, she ONLY had three bottles of wine. Jenn thought to herself.
"Before I go..." Melissa gave a wild smile as she unscrewed a large bottle of Captain Morgan hidden under her desk. Raising it to her lips, she guzzled down what must have been four or five shots worth of the liquid before stopping, letting out a sigh of relief.
"Anyway, BELCH gotta get going," she wiped off her mouth as she placed the bottle back down. "Have as much as you want while I'm gone, ciao!" With a slam, Melissa was gone, leaving only Jenn to resume reflecting on her own shortcomings.
Her phone buzzing snapped her attention out of her own head. Looking down, she saw a new icon had appeared on her home screen, covering part of her old icons.
Alright, that's odd she thought to herself. Figuring no harm no foul, she clicked the gray button which brought her to a simplistic text box interface with only the words "Enter your command" written at the top.
Maybe its a phone maintenance feature? I didn't know it was installed on here though... Jenn frowned, an eyebrow raised. Her phone had been running out of memory recently due to her app downloads. She typed Improve memory and remove unnecessary apps.
Her phone shook violently and Jenn let out a startled yelp. Looking down, she saw her status screen was now open. She read "14GB used of 700TB". Jenn's mouth fell open as she realized what had truly happened: that app had changed reality beyond what physics could do.
Navigating back to the gray text box, her heart began to race as she thought about what she could do with this power, what she could change.... | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
