Chapter #7The next day by: Joe   Lucy's head woke up first since she is used to doing it. It was around 6:00 in the morning. She often has work around 8:30. She tries to levitated and poked Lizzy with her cheek.
"Wake up sleepy head. We got work today.", said Lucy.
"This early.", asked Lizzy.
"Of course. This diner serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Don't worry, my job is usually only breakfast and brunch.", said Lucy.
"Sorry, its just that I usually wake up later when I was at the adoption clinic."
"Don't worry, you'll get used to it. Yesterday was just a late notice. My real work time is during the weekdays."
"Then let's get going. Right after breakfast."
"By the way, do pet heads eat at all?", asked Lucy.
"Of course. We need some nutrients or else we wouldn't be healthy at all. You remember in biology class where they say that pet heads have this small stomach that let's them eat."
"I'm not good at science."
"That was my last lesson before all of this.", said Lizzy.
"At least I can eat again."
"I'll go make breakfast while you get changed."
"Uh thanks."
Lucy notices that she doesn't have to do much since she no longer has a body. She just needs to tie up her hair and get some earrings on. Sadly she has no hands so it would be difficult. Lucy decides that she needs to try because she doesn't want to be a completely useless head.
She stretch her hairband and tries to put her hair in it with a door knob. She manages to do it and she wished she was able to pat herself in the back. The earrings were out of the question since they do require hands. She then tries to brush her teeth by moving it around with her mouth. It somewhat work, but Lucy choked a bit.
She washed her mouth and wonder why she choked even though she has no throat. She then grabbed her old uniform so she can give it too Lizzy later.
Lizzy was cooking up some breakfast and got some eggs and some meat in Lucy's fridge. She then went up to retrieve Lucy and saw Lucy's head carrying her uniform.
"Is that for me?", asked Lizzy.
"Of course.", muffled Lucy.
Lizzy grabbed it while Lucy floated to the kitchen. Lizzy then got dressed quick in Lucy's maid outfit and tied up her hair in a pony tail. She then saw Lucy eating independently though the head made a mess.
"Here, let me help.", said Lizzy.
"I can do this.", said Lucy as she wiped her mouth with a napkin, but the napkin dropped.
"Don't worry about being dependent on me. You are my savior and I'm basically in debt to you."
"I know, but I don't want to think that I'm completely useless for the rest of my life."
"The fact that you are willing to give your body to me proves that you are worth a million diamonds."
"Really."
"What matters most is what's in your heart?"
"I don't have one anymore. Remember.", said Lucy with a giggle, "You have it now."
"Then its ours now. You are so cute when your happy as a head.", said Lizzy.
So Lizzy ate breakfast and would spoon feed Lucy. After that, they walked to the diner which is not that far of a walk. Lizzy carried Lucy's head and the head felt a breeze that she never experience while going to work before. They then arrived and started at their positions like last night.
Lizzy was the maid and Lucy was the cut pet head cashier. A bunch of guys glorified Lizzy for how at some occasions starts to show off her body without realizing it. The guys ask her about her body, but Lizzy gave all the credit to Lucy.
Lucy blushed at the fact that Lizzy would sacrifice her popularity so that she gets acknowledged. Her manager who is also a pet head notices it and said.
"Lucy, wake up. Don't you remember that you have something to do?", said her manager.
"Sorry Mary. Just got a bit carried away."
"Hey, I know how it feels when your owner shows love to you. Its a touching feeling.", said Mary the manager, "And we have more coming up. Get ready Lucy."
"Yes Ma'am."
More coming their way for Lizzy and in the end...   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
