What drew Marc's attention however was the look on the unicorn's face. Now, he hadn't known her for too long but Claudine seemed so...so composed, self-assured of herself and proud. But currently looking at the Gold-Level fighter, all he could see was someone who looked tired and miserable.
"...Why..." Claudine mumbled to herself through the sherbet and staring at the tv. "...why can't I have something like that...?"
Marc's brow arched into his hairline before looking towards the TV. Just like he thought it was a soap opera. But the scene was what caught his attention. It was a young couple, just talking, laughing...they seemed happy. Marc looked back to Claudine and connected the dots. "She's lonely..." Marc realized.
It was incredible to him. That someone who had everything on a sliver platter didn't have something that basic. Back in the human world, Marc had had plenty of friends. Heck, even had a few ex-girlfriends he could still call friends! But it really seemed like Claudine didn't have any of that. "It really must be lonely at the top..." He mused,
Now this left him with a dilemma. Claudine seemed honestly distressed and if he was right, maybe she just needed a friend or at least someone who showed they cared. He just met her, but he could understand that and sympathized. As a plus, it could really help set the tone with them going down the line, for however long that lasted.
Yet, something nagged him. What if Claudine really didn't want anyone to know about this? What if she lashed out at him? Every other fighter he'd been assigned to had been a pure bitch in how they acted. Maybe it was better to walk away and try to get some sleep...
