Throwing off the covers of her bed, saw that she was wearing different underwear from what she’d had on just last night. It didn’t even look like anything she owned – which sort of made sense, in a weird way: after all, this was a room she didn’t recognize, either. Had she been kidnapped? In the back of her mind there was a feeling of foreboding, but right now she had to get her bearings.
Looking down at her body, there was something else that seemed out of place. She had no idea what that might be, but there was a distinct sense of wrongness. Had something…been done to her? She debated calling out, but worried that whoever had moved her – and undressed her – might not be someone she’d want to meet. Sarah put her thoughts toward escaping. There was a window across from the bed that looked out onto a suburban neighborhood. From the looks of it, it seemed like she was on the second story. There was a tree right outside – Sarah wasn’t the most athletic person, but she figured she could probably climb down it if she had to. Should she risk taking the time to get dressed first? Sarah crept to the door and put her ear to it, listening for any indication that there were other people in the house. It was quite to her shock that the voice she heard came from behind her, in the same room.
“Sarah?”
Sarah spun around, heart pounding. She was sure she’d been alone in the room. Had there been someone else in here, hiding? Her racing mind came screeching to a halt when she saw who it was: There, standing next to the bed she’d just gotten out of, was her friend and colleague Hyun-sung Kim.
