Wella didn't even know who or what this big party was for, but it looked like a great time! The streets were lined with stalls selling strange and sparkly wares, with scores of people traveling which ever way between them. Most of them were just travelers or citizens, like Wella herself, but some of them were performers! Jugglers, stilt-walkers, magicians practicing both real and stage magic. All framed by bright banners and signs, discount drink and fancy costumes galore!
I guess it makes sense that the innkeeper would be under pressure, she thought, her elven ears drooping even as she tried to find the good in the man who'd kicked her out onto the street. But, smelling something delicious, her ears perked back up, and she started off down the street.
Turns out, even a penniless wanderer like herself could have fun in a place like this! She couldn't buy any of the sweet candies or fried treats, but there was enough drink going around that she managed to nab a free mug or two. She got to see a fire-breather swirl his blazing breath into all sorts of serpentine shapes, and even managed to pick up a fancy scarf! Literally, in that she picked it up off the ground after someone else dropped it and a few other people walked over it, but it was still pretty good looking. And at some stalls, people weren't even trading proper coins, but these strange beads, that sparkled and shined as people plucked them off of necklaces.
Wella was so overwhelmed, that she almost didn't know what to do next, having forgotten for the moment about finding a place to sleep, but it wasn't long before something else grabbed her attention....
